Large LCD televisions are slowly killing attendance at sports events - especially with the prevalent “Knockout Game” culture in many stadium neighborhoods as a growing disincentive.
It is a good point, too, among those made. The downside is the nauseating commercials. The old guy with the Capital One ad (THIS is Capital One!), or the wise-ass chick talking down to a man “I AM the supervisor), or the black lady who owns a business and says she puts out fires (and at that point she gets an extinguisher to douse a stupid white male’s act), or the Taco Bell ad where the white guy is six times less the man as he watches others play black basketball and he eats on the sideline, or Flo and the Progressive Insurance, or....do I need to continue? I switched the SyFy Twilight Zone marathon last night.
And, oh, extended replays adds to the lengths of games and subtracts from the immediacy of success or peril.
