Hilarious. I think the most shocking one is Jennifer Aniston. But, then again, there's the very appropriate picture of SJP in full equine regalia...ha ha...

I was confused by the SJP pic. Is she on the left or the right?

And the opposite is true. I’ve gotten to where I can look through the makeup and hair of female celebrities and see the “normal person” underneath. It’s even funnier with males, especially once they’re over 40.

I know and work around several of the “Madonnas.” SJP too (though I have always thought she deserves props for NOT rhinoplasty herself into a Mattel look.

Celebrities are carefully crafted, coiffed, styled...botoxed, laser resurfaced, lifted, tucked. Their noses, chins, cheekbones are professionally chiseled. They have a SWAT team of stylists, makeup artists, hairdressers, chauffeurs, nutritionists, chefs, personal trainers, and sundry “assistants.”

Back in the late 70s when Farrah Fawcett (May she RIP she seemed like a nice lady) was at the height of her popularity she was married to Lee Majors (who had a great admiration of the then Pitt football head coach Johnnie Majors—I don’t think they were related, but I could be wrong). They BOTH used to attend Pitt football games...and I saw them both...relatively close up. Let’s just say the camera and special lighting were kind to both. FF was very petite, her foundation was quite noticeable (darker than her neck) and they both had odd nose shapes (hers was very prominent, his looked mashed in) but somehow, on camera they both were perfection. My point is NOT to drag them down...but just to point out how accurate this “artist” is.

Joe showed remarkable restraint in posting one of the more flattering pictures of that beast. There are much worse ones out there.

There is actually something to be learned from the Tom Cruise picture, and I’ve experienced it.

In 1997 I went on a diet at age 43. I am 6’ 1” and have a large frame. I weighed 245 lbs and was an avid bicycle commuter. I was not “fat” but very healthy and just a big guy.

I lost 55 lbs in three months. Two things I noticed. First, my engergy level went through the roof. I felt like a kid. But the second was even more interesting. I lost so much wieght in my face that people who had not seen me in those three months did not recognise me.

But that brings us to another thing: I noticed something I never noticed before: I’d walk into one of the trendy bar’s in Seattle and Bellevue and, as I scanned the room, “hot” women would rapidly look away as we briefly made eye contact (it got where it was kind of embarrassing). And it wasn’t just women. Men were almost as bad (I can only assume they were sizing up the competition). The most interesting episode was when I was in Restoration hardware in downtown Seattle with my wife and a homosexual couple was about 20 feet from us. My wife watched as one of them, staring at me, walked into a display and knocked it over, resulting in a dirty look from his partner.

I’m 60 now and have gained back a significant part of that weight. It’s why I’m comfortable talking about it. However, my point is this: Just as the stars have the ability to look like regular people, we regular people have the ability to look like stars. It’s about diet and exercise.

And though this is off topic, to anyone out there that is overweight, you will not believe what it does to your self perception, energy level and love of life when you get down to HWP. Seriously.

I noticed that too. The biggest difference was that he added weight.

Of course the second one is from her movie but its the result of crappy eating, no exercise, and most of all no makeup.

The mags at the supermarket checkout occasionally show pics of what the “stars” look like without professional makeup. They’re not special. Their facial bone structure just provides a good platform for makeup.
