I live about 15 miles from Slapout, Al as the crow flies...
There is not much to Slapout itself but it sits on a beautiful lake...Lake Jordan, so it’s a pretty neat place to be...and if you want to live on the lake I hope you make a lot of money...lol
Going down the hill from Slapout takes you right through the Wetumpka meteor crater which I drive through every day. Slapout (really Holtville) sits on the ridge of the meteor crater.
What Slapout is best known for is The Boy’s Store and The Girl’s Store. I’m not sure The Girl’s Store is still there, but I believe The Boy’s Store is...
