Lawson was also survived by six children, 18 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Looks like he stayed busy between puffs.

Can't think of many benefits of smoking.....

It reduces competition for resources (after a while)

Everything in life has risks, including being a couch potato. Some things have higher risks.

Every one who imbibes dihydrogen monoxide eventually dies too.

True, but I do pity all the folks walking around these days with their little oxy bottles.

Current Life Expectancy is 75.9 years, according to the SSA.

http://www.ssa.gov/OACT/STATS/table4c6.html

He lost 4, in an average sense.

He could also have been hit by a bus prematurely.

I smoked Kools for 30 years.

After my first heart attack, my cardiologists said “It was the smoking that killed you”

Threw 8 cartons in the trash when I got home.

Haven’t had one since.

It seems we lose one of these “ex-Marlboro men” every 10 years or so according to the “media”. We’re slowly losing all of them.

Me too.

Funny thing is some of them never smoked a day in their entire lives.

I’ve been a smoker for the last 35 years, I’m not saying it’s a wise habit but the social hysteria surrounding it is a bit much sometimes.....especially when the current push is to legalize pot.

“Smoking takes ten years off your life. Well it’s the ten worst years, isn’t it folks? It’s the ones at the end! It’s the wheelchair, kidney dialysis, adult diaper fucking years. You can have those years! We don’t want ‘em, alright?” - Dennis Leary

I had a great uncle who was a Catholic Priest.
He picked up the habit of chewing tobacco while serving in a mission overseas. He chewed the rest of his adult life.

When he passed away at age 94, the State of New York listed “tobacco use” as a contributing cause of death on his Death Certificate.

Gotta have the statistic, dontcha know.
