Why conservatives are in trouble
World Net Daily ^ | 2/21/2014 | Patrice Lewis

In last weekend’s column about the built-in absurdity endemic in Obamacare, I stated my thesis that elements within the United States government are making a serious and concerted effort to bring about America’s downfall and that the only way to stop it is to stand in their path, united.

But so far conservatives haven’t done this. That’s why we’re in trouble.

It is a shame we have to fight our way to the enemy, taking casualties and infighting along the way. But that is what must be done, the Republican Civil War must be fought AND WON by the right first; before the all out war against the left can begin.

The left purged all moderates out of their party (ask Lieberman )and they are running lean and mean sucking in the sheeple to their perceived power. The sheeple are not idealogical but are attracted to committed driven people like insects at night are attracted to bright lights, the message comes second with them. If the political right can plant a true flag of real conservitism in the political battlefield the sheeple will come.

Another one ignores the obvious.
Money spent on investment and savings- media makes nothing.
Money spent on consumer spending- media makes 5 to 10%.

...and no one can figure why conservatives don’t win in the ‘public square’ controlled by TV...

Obama borrowed trillions and turned it into consumer spending. Of course the media loves politicy like that.
It’s money in their pockets.

Why does everyone play the fool about this?

That’s what my gut tells me, too. And you’re right about us getting lean and mean.

I’ve learned to stay away from the Religion Forum. I’ve never met such a thin-skinned bunch of weenies in my life, and they even have special Moderators with fine-tuned sensitivities to kick you off FR for the least slight.

I wish there was a way to filter the Religion threads out from my Latest Posts page without having to filter out most other threads in the process. With the current system, you can either browse all forums are just one, no in-between.

"we MUST get rid of the GOP-E.

And that's the easy part. The hard part will be to identify individuals who are genuine constitutional conservatives, and weeding out the those despicable and traitorous opportunists who clothe themselves with the patriot's mantle.

Sorry, the Tea Party is NOT at war with the “globalists”. We can remain competitive right here in the US with free market policies. However, when socialist policies keep increasing the cost of labor and dumb down the education system, that’s what allows other countries to kick our butts. The solution is not to turn our back on the free movement of goods and capital, but to outcompete the world, including China.

It’s still folly to trade with one’s enemies.

China is kicking our butts right now.

The Tea Party needs to support American businesses.

Just saying. American.

Most manufacturing in the USA, what's left anyway, is done by non union labor at a ratio of 9:1. Minimum wage adjusted for inflation is not at an all time low but close to it. Besides labor is one of the smallest components of manufacturing costs anyway. Corporations love regulations and taxes because it keeps out the possible upstart little guy and gives them an excuse for offshoring production to communists countries all the while true "conservatives" like your self drink the gloBULList kool aid. What a world.

The media gets the same or more commission on foreign goods as American.
That issue is a waste of their time and they control ‘the public square’.

Why do you spam threads with the same theme over and over? We already know that the libs don’t want US jobs back, because that means their internationalist friends overseas lose their (anti-)competitive advantage right away, and they still want to beat whatever independent spirit exists in Americans out of them.

Besides, there is also a spiritual side to this; not likely a nation that turns its back on God will have its standard of living expanded, but shrunken rather.

I’m not spamming threads.

China is now the largest exporter on the planet.

Americans cannot immigrate there, own factories there, and China is becoming a threat.

I am trying to start discussions about a hugely important topic which we aren’t yet talking about.

Yet last year, China ran a 300 billion trade surplus with America (and growing)

You may not like this topic, fact is you may have invested heavily in Chinese manufacturing or something (minority investment of course) but I won’t stop talking about this increasingly important matter.

America we need to make things.

Here.

They don’t want “participation” as we know it. They want support and agreement with whatever dogma they’re spewing.

I just tell myself that I don’t understand their lives, and they’re only doing what’s best to get themselves through the day. I can’t get into it, and so I stay away. But I keep stumbling over their threads because it’s impossible to tell that’s what they are until one clicks in and reads them. Titles like “Hey! Look at this!!” don’t help.

I’ve learned to skip the articles and go straight to the keywords to see if the thread is a potential landmine. If not, I return to the top of the article and read.

"The hard part will be to identify individuals who are genuine constitutional conservatives,"

My acid test for a conservative who claims to be a constitutional conservative is one who will insist on a formal Congressional declaration of war before any military attack in Syria, Iran, or elsewhere.

JOINT RESOLUTION Declaring that a state of war exists between the Imperial Government of Japan and the Government and the people of the United States and making provisions to prosecute the same. Whereas the Imperial Government of Japan has committed unprovoked acts of war against the Government and the people of the United States of America: Therefore be it Resolved by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, That the state of war between the United States and the Imperial Government of Japan which has thus been thrust upon the United States is hereby formally declared; and the President is hereby authorized and directed to employ the entire naval and military forces of the United States and the resources of the Government to carry on war against the Imperial Government of Japan; and, to bring the conflict to a successful termination, all the resources of the country are hereby pledged by the Congress of the United States.

The bad thing there is that it gives fuel to liberal false fire to wit that FR is populated with such dogmatists who actually want the First Amendment gone and replaced with a federal state religion. Conservatives want “free exercise” instead, as the First Amendment makes plain.

Ask him about the beneficial effects of high tariffs some time...but don’t ask which country in the world manufactures the most.

Quite so. Liberal “wars” are designed to sap the country’s strength.
