Do we really need another movie telling us “Slavery was bad”?

That’s right, because it is not about ‘drawing the accusations’, it’s about the motivations for making such films, and then applauding them no matter how bad they are (see ‘Roots’) and going to see them), and they are to my thinking invariably white guilt.

Sad to say.. FR is DEAD now for things like this.

For the first time in MANY years... I’m following Twitter instead. :-(

Guess I’m missing the music of past years. Alfie, The Man That Got Away, The Prayer, Funny Girl, etc. Truly great music. The song nominees tonight are just not in the same class of talent.

I truthfully do not watch the Oscars each year. But have off and on for the past 40 or so. Just giving my opinion for what it’s worth.

There's no "It's Hard Out Here for a Pimp", that's for sure.

Ha...that was a joke for sure.

Ah, at least we are getting to hear another great voice now...Bette Midler! And wonderful song...

Speaking of music...Bette Midler is singing, and she sounds utterly awful. Pitchy as all get out.

Compared to the other singers (except Pink) she’s music to my ears! Has lost some range,,,,but still!

She’s the Go To for that song now even though Sheena Easton did a better version several years before Bette recorded it.

More and more of us who follow FR for politics and religion have completely begun ignoring Hollywood in full disgust.

Zero control, very sad, because at her peak she could shame the birds in the trees!

For whatever reason they keep putting the sixty-somethings on stage and making it out like it’s a once in a lifetime thing...

Doesn’t work!

And don’t take me wrong. I hit the big six oh this year!
