Cat bites are exceptionally dangerous. I’ve known two people (an ex-girlfriend and an ex-wife) who had to be hospitalized and hooked up to anti-biotic IVs for a few days to prevent AMPUTATION of their respective, bitten hands. No joke and no exaggeration.
What if the cat did NOT attack the guy?....But DID attack YOU every day?
As was the case here?
I performed ist aid on her many times..:) that sounds funny.
She had serious injuries ...wouldnt even let me trim the claws.
I think it bit me once....only once.
I love a common sense post. :)
The toddler who pulls the cat’s tail isn’t being mean, and neither is the cat who defends itself. Now, sometimes older kids torment animals out of meanness...in which cases a good butt whipping is called for.
It amazes me that people adopt dogs and cats without bothering to obtain the slightest bit of animal knowledge. I guess they expect them to behave like furry people, or something.
(And Maine Coon cats are beautiful)!
I was bitten on the hand by a friend’s cat. Hopped up and down, cursed, cleaned it well (or so I thought), bandaged it up and went to bed. I woke up with a nasty case of cellulitis that required a 4 hour ER visit, complete with IV antibiotics and a prescription for another week’s worth of oral antibiotics. NOT fun!
Poor kitty.
