Here is mine. It's basically a block of magnesium (lightweight) with the striker on one side.
They don't come stock with the white mold/salts on them.... that's from age.
The striker is shown with a Leatherman(tm), case, and standard cigarette for scale.
The cigarette is of course, home made.

I went into town today and picked up two Cochlans(tm) magnesium fire starters. They look a lot like the one in your photograph. Found them in the sporting goods store. I can hardly wait to try one out, next controlled burn. Thank you so much for the tip.
