When you sell the NBA FAST TRACK to the elite talent, you will always be in the mix.

UK even reaching the final four was one of the worst things to happen to the college game this year.

And now that they are in the championship game, and even more so if they should win it Monday night, it will be the worst thing for the college game period.

You cannot tell me that offering up your program the way UK has for the being a middle man for the NBA on the OAD’s does not have some corruption behind it, if not now, it will soon enough.

But this is simply ruining the college game. The NCAA could slow this down if they wanted too by re-instituting the FRESHMEN Rule...where freshmen cant play varsity ball.

That way, these elite OAD’s could not get the benefit of the varsity coach unless they stayed 2 or more years.....however since they would be eligible for the draft after their freshmen year, they would more than likely opt to the NBA, and that would allow the kids that ACTUALLY want to play and contribute to the program a place to play and protect the college game.

That would pretty much put and end to Calipari’s NBA FARM TEAM SYSTEM and keep it from spreading to the rest of the college programs, more to the point, the elite programs.

But we know already their have been questionable actions at UK already with one recruit in that of Bledsoe and Calipari’s involvement getting another recruit to resend his announcement to one program. It may not be exactly against the NCAA rules, but it sure borders on the unethical.

Yeah, if you send your announcement once, that should be enough.

BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

Cal is fair game, I guess, but you should leave Eric Bledsoe out of your rants, IMO.

Do you realize he and his mother were living out of a car during his senior year? The young man overcame tremendous adversity growing up and has become a consistent producer in the NBA, all while avoiding even a hint of controversy.

That story was just another example of The New York Times pushing an agenda. Why else would they try to damage a poor black kid who literally didn't have a pot to piss in?

That’s a bunch of baloney. Calipari has never been implicated for any “illegal recruiting.” In addition, this is not “Calipari’s system”, but the system put in place by the NBA and the NCAA. He’s simply one of the best at working within it.

In any event, I would prefer it be changed to require they stay at least two years, but I’m not the rulemaker.

YOU NAILED IT! I agree on most every point you made here. Thankfully, the one and done system doesn't guarantee them anything in consecutive years. Last year, Calipari's team couldn't get out of their own way with all their playground divas. Hell, they couldn't even win one game in the NIT tournament (see: Robert Morris crushed them).

They are an NBA farm team, plain and simple, as you said. If anyone doubts it, have them look up William Sydney "Wes" Wesley (aka World Wide Wes). He's an NBA agent who always sits right behind the UK bench and helps them recruit these high profile high school kids. Nothing shady to see here, right? If anyone is a longtime UK fan, they can remember when Senior Day was a HUGE deal at UK, celebrating the loyalty a kid gave that school for four years of service. Now it's just a bus stop for six months tops before heading to the National Thug Association.
