The NASA spacewalk involving Rick Mastracchio and Steve Swanson is scheduled to start today (April 23) at 9:20 a.m. EDT (1:20 p.m. UTC), with coverage starting around 8:30 a.m. EDT (12:30 p.m. UTC). The spacewalk is scheduled to last 2.5 hours. Bear in mind that the times could change as circumstances arise.
The computer, also called a multiplexer/demultiplexer (MDM), failed for unknown reasons a couple of weeks ago. While the primary computer is working perfectly and the crew is in no danger, things get more risky if the primary computer also breaks. Thats why NASA worked to get the spacewalkers outside as quickly as possible

OK. It is really cool that people float around on a space station orbiting the earth at a huge expense, take beautiful pictures and inspire young people, but just what scientific advances or insights are being revealed?

Oh my gosh...they think they saw something drop over his shoulder...he says he has everything with him he came out there with....asked him to look around....looks now like it wasn’t anything.

This is absolutely fascinating seeing them outside the space station like that..and hearing all the dialog between them and those inside.....
Well nations are speaking if or not one or the other will weaponize space. Better our guys have the experience out there should that day come..and I believe it will. Russia's already speaking about it.
