I challenge atheists to explain consciousness.

All our science, with all its knowledge, doesn't even touch it.

And consciousness is not pretty colors on an MRI image of the brain.

I challenge atheists to explain consciousness.

I use that exact point when I ever take to atheist...

I have never gotten a reasonable cogent response...

You might be interested in Hank Schlinger’s work on consciousness (http://web.calstatela.edu/faculty/hschlin/). Radical behaviorists, generally, agree with you about that “consciousness is not pretty colors on an MRI image of the brain” and have some very interesting interpretations based on principles of behavior.

Do you believe that the things which science can't explain are themselves evidence for a theistic God?

What if neurobiologists CAN explain consciousness in 10 years, in the same way that God was responsible for lightning and viral illness before we knew better? What happens then?

Must be easy to be able to say " God diddit!!" and feel satisfied.

Not sure how consciousness is proof of God.

It’s not clear what you mean by consciousness.

For example, general anesthetic cause unconsciousness. So, it is neurophysiological and can be altered by drugs.

But my guess is you mean something different by consciousness.

I challenge you to explain it. Can you do so without saying “God willed it to be so”? Because, that’s not an explanation. That’s just substituting one unknowable for another.

For the record, not an atheist. Just another wishy washy agnostic.
