I’ve lived in California 4 times over a 40 year period..It is a beautiful state. Most of my life I have lived in Texas, though. Texas is home.

Hi dear Meg - my first post in quite awhile and no real news or exciting things to talk about, lol. The political and world news is getting me down, especially the illegals and Ebola. I watch a movie every evening and should find 'lighter' topics to read about during the day!

Praying all is well with you and imagine we are both suffering the same heat and lack of rain. The wind is drying out my plants within a day or so now.

Amy’s Place was on vacation from June 21 til this past week when our posters wanted to revive it though on a less formal basis. This is an island of sanity.

Good to see you..I’ve been enjoying the below normal temps here. A rare August blessing!

Yes, it is an island of sanity. I’ve watched news for so many years that I’m compelled to keep doing it, but I really don’t need the depression it brings, lol.

I’m glad you are having cooler weather Meg. It’s very hot and very windy here and we are under water restriction now. The front yard is ‘crunchy’ to walk on but we can be fined for water sprinkler use!

I used to have the national news on all day..No longer . I watch local news and get national news here in small doses.
I cannot exist in a constant state of outrage.
Prayers for our nation.

It’s heating up here but we still are 5 degrees below normal..It’s 93.
Wouldn’t a lovely rain be welcome! No water rationing here but we need rain.

That’s what has happened to me and I see people fighting each other all over the forums and it doesn’t solve a thing. Hate only hurts the hater. I don’t need more stress in my life, lol.

I read my local paper and even it can be irritating..
We were supposed to get rain twice recently but it bypassed us.

Well, at least I broke my ‘stay away’ spell, hope I get the urge to post more.
