I don’t blame him - even if he has no ideological point of view. These are disgusting. I’ll never forget the look on the faces of Islamists during the Paris gay pride parade circa 2000. I knew then we were in horrible trouble.

Christianity is in decline in Europe, while Islam is in ascension there. It will not be far in the future till Islamists have sufficient numbers to win elections and elect Islamists in those countries. In 20 years, Europe will be Islamic, and when that happens they are going to embark on a search and destroy mission regarding homosexuals. The portion of the population which might object (the Christian part) will be subdued and dominated by the Islamists, and the Homosexuals will all end up being killed.

Europe is heading for a bloodbath (again) and we will be getting to the same destination eventually ourselves. A large part of what is destroying Western Civilization is a rejection of Judeo-Christian principles. This indulgence of perversion and insanity which is being imposed on us by Judicial tyrants appointed by Democrats, just hastens the time when society collapses and we will reap the whirlwind.

I'm really surprised this happened in Utah. Chicago, I could see, but Utah??

Didn't think the Mormons out there put up with that sort of thing.

Because there are certain professions that just do not get to make this decision. Suppose a Muslim doctor refuses to operate on a Christian patient in an emergency room? Suppose an atheist cop decides to not save a Baptist minister being beaten to death because he is baptist? Suppose a court appointed lawyer decides to not do his best because of certain beliefs of the client?

No. There are certain jobs that if you wanna do them, they come with certain personal restrictions. This is one of them.

If any sodomite had ever been executed in this country, he would years ago have been transformed into a famous martyr, with schools named after him, an award-winning New York Times bestseller biography of him, a commemorative postage stamp, etc.

Got intrigued by your comment and did a little research. According to this author, only two men are known to have been executed in English-speaking America for sodomy, both in the colonial period, and a couple more in New Netherland. See page 288.

http://digitalcommons.unl.edu/cgi/viewcontent.cgi?article=1061&context=englishfacpubs

However, little combing of local judicial records has been done on the issue, and since sodomy was legally punishable by death throughout the colonial period and as late as the 1870s, it seems likely the real number is a good bit higher.

This is poor logic.

The theoretical cop in your examples is not forcing anyone to be enslaved or led to their deaths against their will.

The Cop doesn't want to be there, and he is being forced to be there against his will. I expect a bunch of the Cops feel the same way.

And you aren't grasping the point. Neither the Jews nor the Slaves were recognized as having any legal rights, so what they wanted was legally irrelevant. You want to talk about bad logic? You are demanding what is Legal on the one hand (for the officer) and what is Moral on the other. (for the Jews and the Slaves.)

You are trying to have it both ways.

Your analogy is fatally flawed. People at that parade, for reasons unfathomable to me, actually want to be there.

Mentally ill people want to play with poo, but that doesn't mean we should indulge them.

Also, the Founders did not execute sodomites.

Thomas Jefferson himself, complaining that execution was too severe a punishment for the offense of Homosexuality, proposed to the Virginia Legislature to change the punishment to castration.

Whosoever shall be guilty of Rape, Polygamy, or Sodomy with man or woman shall be punished, if a man, by castration, if a woman, by cutting thro' the cartilage of her nose a hole of one half inch diameter at the least.

Here is Wikipedia on the topic:

In 1779, Thomas Jefferson wrote a law in Virginia which contained a punishment of castration for men who engage in sodomy,[1] however, what was intended by Jefferson as a liberalization of the sodomy laws in Virginia at that time was rejected by the Virginia Legislature, which continued to prescribe death as the maximum penalty for the crime of sodomy in that state.[2]

Should note that the execution of William Cornish for sodomy in the previous post was arguably for homosexual rape, not just sodomy, which does put a somewhat different perspective on the case.

And suppose someone who doesn't believe in slavery is required to provide security for a slave parade? They have to follow the law, right?

And suppose someone has to make sure no Jews escape while they are being led to the cattle cars. They have to follow the law, right?

When the law eventually says (and it will) that Christians have to be dragged out of their houses and forced to go to education camps, they have to follow the law, right?

Just like you said, "There are certain jobs that if you wanna do them, they come with certain personal restrictions. This is one of them."

As you mentioned, you would think the numbers would be higher, and you mentioned a reason for this, but when you consider that the penalty is death, it might have deterred quite a lot of it. (It's only 1.8% anyway, and i'm thinking back in those days it was a lot harder for them to find another member of that 1.8%) Not only was the legal system completely against it, everyone in those days was inundated with religious teaching proclaiming you would burn in Hell for eternity for doing such a thing.

There were a lot of factors working against it.

“If any sodomite had ever been executed in this country, ,”

He was. John Gacy

I’m surprised he was not been made a martyr and got his own postage stamp. If Harvey Milk gets one why not Gacy?

Now that you have brought it up, I think many people would be astonished at the cross connection between serial killers and homosexuality. A huge swath of infamous serial killers were homosexual. (Jeffery Dahmer, Charles Ing.)

I suppose the act of sodomy might get overlooked when you are dealing with acts of murder.

Milk didn't kill and dismember even one person that we know of.

Gacy murdered and dismembered dozens.

Flawed logic makes defenders of true morality look silly.

There is no number, because someone would have to stand up in court and testify that he had been sodomized, and that the man who did it lived long enough to make it to trial.

It would be too rich a subject of research to have been passed up by the victimology department of every university in America.

Which would itself have been a capital crime, if voluntary.

You see my point. It was a law that was effectively unenforceable before it was symbolically repealed.
