Haven’t paid a credit card for 6 months? [troll aka “foolynyah” zotted]

This advice is worth what you paid for it.

You see, after 90 days of not paying on a credit card, the bank charges it off and sells the debt along with hundreds or thousands of others to a collection agency for 1/100th of the value of the original debt. The debt buyer then tries to collect from the debtor and they keep all the money they can collect.

They will take you to court and try and garnish your wages for 6 to 8 or 12 years. That’s when you ask the court to force the new debt holder to show the court proof of ownership (paper documents) for the debt they are trying to collect for.

These creditors are buying debt with the click of a mouse over the internet and will have none of the original paperwork. The reason, it’s cost prohibitive and a filing nightmare. These creditors prefer to operate with only intimidation and threats. They gamble in getting a judgment by your failure to appear in court. SHOW UP IN COURT!

Just watch the debt purchaser drop the case and give up on collection.

Had the same thing with get Wireless, they screwed up and attached 9 business cell phones to my home line. Over almost a year the amount went to $9000. It wasn’t until I contacted the state puc that they fixed it.

I got rid of our last credit card in 2000. Pay everything, including cars, in cash and own our homes outright.

It is a great feeling to know we are not in debt and that everything we have is ours.

Stop paying your taxes and see who really owns the home.

So if I owe you money, I should refuse to pay you to save me money.

Sux2bu in that case.

“If through no fault of your own through loss of a job or income you are unable to fulfill an agreement you entered into and had every intention of repaying. “

So buying stuff on credit was not your fault because you had a job. Brilliant.

“you are a troll.”

Yes he is a troll.

On the other hand he has caught a few Dim fish here who apparently are as anti-business as Obama and want to justify his claimed actions by claiming bailouts, the Fed, etc. It is always interesting to see the fish a troll with his line can bring in here.

““You are kidding, right?” No.
If you made those purchases and had every intention of paying for them and due to an unforeseen loss of work later on, how is that stealing if you can honestly no longer afford to pay the debt and keep the lights on?

Please explain that to me.

Silly boy. The mind is the first thing to go in your 70’s

Do you know what “you” and “I” mean?

” Remember, no source of income makes this hard to do “

So get a job and quit lying around the house trying to figure out how to get out of paying your obligations.

It’s interesting to see the quaint naive ideas about how the banking industry works on these threads.

Please explain that to me.

I’m not sure an explanation would help when you apparently believe that job loss equals cancellation of debt.

It does not, debt incurred is debt. It doesn’t go away in the real world. You incur debt, you pay it off, except in one case and one case only.

We are all indebted to the one whose blood was shed in our behalf. A debt that we can never repay. What do we have to give in recompense other than perhaps obediance.

That would include the ten suggestions, one of which is, “thou shalt not steal”.

Your company closed and your job went to Mexico. Pay the bills for yourself and your 3 kids flipping burgers, but first pay your rent, electric bill, social security tax, state tax, federal tax, uniform cleaning, gasoline to get to work.

Now feed your family. If you don't make enough, go find another minimum wage job because you are new and at entry level all over again.

Now you are in the same place millions of Americans are thanks to our resident.

Ahhh it isn't stealing. If through no fault of your own through loss of a job or income you are unable to fulfill an agreement you entered into and had every intention of repaying.

The moment you start screaming to not pay it back, it's stealing.

The thread starts out with how to dodge a debt, numerous posters offer advice and moral guidance, and it degenerates to “you’re not following the Socratic method”.

They’re so transparent.

This thread is dead. In fact is should be deleted.

Not if after you feed the kids and pay the rent from a 39 hour work week (if you are lucky) and you have 20 bucks left, buy some gas for next week.
