How pissed would the world be if the USA, a country who doesn’t give a rip about soccer, won their little tournament? As pissed as the Russians were when the amateur American Hockey team defeated the professional Russian Hockey team in the 1980 Winter Olympics.

All in all, Ghana had a very physical game and a couple of fouls could easily called. USA played well against a better overall team and it’s a great win. It’s great to see a USA win at the World Cup.

Ghana is a damn good team. Beating them is HUGE!

The US is now in second place in Group G. To make it to the Round of 16, it has to defeat Portugal.

Having played soccer, I would say it was very nonphysical. I saw little hard contact.

Set piece corner kick and header that bounces the ball into the net for the 2nd score. Germans were great at scoring at set corner kicks. The coach Klinsmann past on some of that magic to the US.

I think a tie against Portugal would be good enough, as long as we don’t lose by 4 or more against Germany.
We have a +5 Goal Differential advantage on Portugal right now.
