Carlton A. Sherwood, an investigative journalist and former Marine who lurched between accolades and controversy, most prominently with a 2004 film about the chagrin of Vietnam War veterans over John Kerrys turning against the war as a naval officer, died on June 11 in Philadelphia. He was 67.
The cause was congestive heart failure, his wife, Susan, said Friday.
