Adam Baldwin could have joined TNTs The Last Ship to collaborate with producer Michael Bay, engage in classic action hero banter or relish the latest doomsday scenario. What sealed the deal for the Firefly and Chuck alum was spending time with members of the U.S. Navy.
Any chance I get to work in military-based activities ... I jump at, Baldwin says.
The Last Ship, partially filmed at the 32nd Street naval base in San Diego, follows the USS Nathan James as it searches for a cure to a virus which wiped out most of the earths population. Baldwin plays Slattery, second in command on the ship and a character he describes as having a gallows sense of humor. The production leaned on U.S. military advisers for authenticitys sake, but it's pure popcorn adventure.
Forbes dubbed the new series the summer show to beat, applauding its "high octane excitement from the word go with plenty of gunplay and explosions."

I like Adam...he seems like a saner Baldwin
Might have to give this show a peek.
Having read the book I am reluctant to follow the series.
I am reluctant not because I know what happens, but reluctant because the book was not that good and basically, in the book, found the ship and crew on a remote southern hemisphere island where bed-hopping was formally established where men slept in a barracks until their ‘rotation’ with the selected woman (with her own home). Eventually the women set a trap and tricked the men and left them all the men on-shore and sailed away.
I can’t see the series staying true to that part of the book, but still, awful story.
Looking forward to it. Adam Baldwin is one of my favorite actors.
It does seem like half the Baldwin brothers are completely insane and the other two are level headed.
Correct, Adam is A. Baldwin, and not a Baldwin.
I read that he was dating Tammy Bruce.
I like him as well. First I saw him on “Angel” TV series , then he was great on “Chuck” . I never was into “Firefly” and I haven’t seen his movies. I follow him on twitter.
AB is a solid conservative - note his RT below...

I stand corrected
Didn’t care for the book either, On The Beach was much better.
“Let’s be bad guys.”
“I’ll be in my bunk.”
It was a good show with some potential.
There was at least 1, and possibly 2, mandatory homosexual scenes. The black LT. on the bridge mentioned she wanted to take her girlfriend to Europe. The black sailor who fell on the Italian liner, became contaminated, and took his life to spare his shipmates may have been homosexual. At the conclusion of his funeral onboard the Nathan James, either the Master Chief or the ship's captain presented a white male officer (his partner?) with the flag.
Oh barf. Glad I am not watching that PC, obligatory homosexual role TV show.
I teach government in college. I take a poll of students, ask then what percentage of the population is homosexual. I rarely ever get a guess that is less than 15 percent. Most guess between 20-30 percent.
I attribute this to manipulation and non-stop homo promotion/indoctrination by the media.
The students react in shock when I tell them all recent studies, credible studies, show the actual percentage is below 5%.
They argue and protest, sure in their ignorance.
I also ask then to identify one homosexual in popular media that is NOT happy, well-adjusted, nice, loving, quirky, amusing and a heck of a nice guy.
They can’t. . .ergo, to this generation of low information voters, what is in media MUST be real, therefore ALL homosexuals are great people.
I shut it off when the dyke talked about her girlfriend to the captain of the ship. Not only a mandatory homo scene, but also showing that it’s now open and supported even by the highest ranking officer.
I like Adam Baldwin, but it doesn’t mean I’ll watch anything he does.
