A gay advocacy group is calling for the federal government to loosen internet filters in schools as a way to assist the gay community.
In a paper released Thursday, the LGBT Technology Partnership and Institute argues that the gay community has particular needs for the internet that call for government action. In particular, the group is urging a reform of the governments E-Rate policy that they say is blocking low-income individuals and students from accessing important LGBT resources and reaching out to other members of the gay community.
E-Rate is the common name for a federal program, administered by the Federal Communications Commission, that offers schools and public libraries discounts on providing internet access and other telecommunications. Under the Childrens Internet Protection Act, schools and libraries receiving funds from E-rate must implement filters to block certain content deemed harmful to minors, such as pornography.
According to the group, such filters often block sites dealing with gay health issues, and can also prevent gay youth from discovering their own identities.
This [filtering] jeopardizes the fundamental rights to free speech not only for young people, but also adult users of publicly funded Internet access, the report read.

“the gay community has particular needs for the internet”
Oh sure they do.
why don’t the wealthy members of the homosexual community, set up community centers in places such as The Castro, and allow free internet access to homosexual web sites there, free of charge????? Why does everything have to be done through government action?????
Our schools don’t need to be teaching even straight sex ........... much less this perverted lifestyle.
How about teaching math, English, reading, science, etc.?
They really aren't trying to hide it anymore.
This wouldn’t happen to have anything to do with giving kids access to gay porn, would it?
Naaah. Couldn’t be that.
the jokes just write themselves.
They want their perverted lifestyles in peoples faces. They demand we accept them as normal.
It is now all gay all of the time. I’m glad my parents are not around to see this. Pray for guidance.
Why do they have to get in our faces? Originally they just wanted tolerance, or to be left alone, live and let live. How is it that we have morphed from being tolerated and left alone, to them now demanding to get in our faces?????
Good

Other STDs
They’re furnishing pedophilia. This is beyond sick, and we predicted this. Imagine what would have been said in 2007 if a Republican had declared that homosexuals wanted to bring sodomite pornography into schools.
Well, they’re doing it now
They lied.
If they didn’t insist on making their sites so explicit they wouldn’t have a problem but the problem is that the movement doesn’t have a standard of decency above gay porn. My core complaint outside of their horrid activist propaganda is that they insist on refusing to police themselves allowing pedophile sympathizers and targeting of underage kids within their ranks.
Just. Say. No.
They sure do.The courts and the sex offender registries are full of those who displayed those "special needs".
They will never be happy. We were all created with a moral wiring. We have guilt when we do something that we know isn’t right — steal, cheat on spouse, lie, etc. I believe this applies to homosexuals too. They demand acceptance. Even if they gained acceptance from others, the guilt won’t go away.
wow. Recruiting children is their goal. NAMBLA is in there hiding.
We are not allowed to say no to the gay agenda.
Any type of porn should be illegal in schools
