You didn’t get a virus on your Mac unless you entered your password to elevate privileges.

That is why I will only update the Adobe Flash software manually from their website. However, I was not able to find how to update Adobe AIR manually, so when I open software that uses Adobe AIR I'll get a pop-up window notification to update. In that case, I have entered the password to update it, and hoped that it wasn't a scam.
Even then, it is not a "virus". . . there are a grand total of zero Mac OSX viruses. There are some things that are classified as "malware" and only a few that affect modern OSX Macs. There are seven known families of OSX Trojans with a total of 54 variants, all of which the OSwhich is updated when ever a new variant is discoveredwill protect you against if you let it. That means DON'T ignore the warning when it pops up!
