It sounded like a fair deal to me. I’ve all ways lived by put your money where your mouth is, if you want something besides the standard issue.
One of the apparent problems re costs is Dell, HP and other semi name brand PC makers make deals with big companies with significant savings and Apple doesn’t make deals.
One of our younger relatives was accepted to attend a Catholic private school, and the students are required to buy the big IPAD with maximum memory, a key board and case. Apple’s big discount was a name tag attached to her IPAD with zero discount via the school. We bought her IPAD, and could have gotten the same IPAD at Target at the same price without the name tag. If we had timed the purchase right, Target would have given a store gift card for $50 to $100.
It will be interesting if our relative’s company decides to go for a Samsung phone instead of an I phone with the same deal.
