...ever been to the "Calgary Stampede" AND...
Nay info or thoughts will be appreciated.
Vacation? What’s that?
Good for you both.
Speaking as someone whose child competes in rodeos, and having spoken to those who have already attended...
We plan to one day make that trip.
The biggest problem is finding a hotel in Calgary during Stampede. It is a major event for the city. We missed our chance to stay with some folks living there at the time and now regret it.
Depends on what you are looking for. It’s a great party...and also a pretty good rodeo.
We about 7 or so years ago were planning a Pilgrimage to Israel/Jordan but the trip fell through and we would like to ACTUALLY use our passports once before they expire in a couple of years.
You could drop in on obastard in martha’s vineyard and claim you are a refugee. I’m sure he’ll be there this time of year.
Never been to BC, but from what I’ve read any trip to Calgary should include a visit to Banff and Jasper.
Yep, gotta see Banff and Lake Louise and such in the mountains if you’re bothering to go to Calgary.
Because they are metric up there, quarter horses are actually 22.5 horses.
Duluth, MN...try to stay at one of the B&Bs in Duluth. Take a train ride along the North Shore of Lake Superior. Visit the Apostle Islands in northern Wisconsin...a few hours drive from Duluth along the south shore of Lake Superior.
Joseph Farah is planning another trip to Israel... It’s very affordable and we’ve been on one WND trip, it was excellent.
Just watch out for those Canadians... they are not to be trusted.
Bingo, and Lake Louise, etc. A beautiful addition to Calgary.
Is that like the Mexican Stampede we're having now?
Britain's Lost Freedoms: 'We're Living in a Madhouse'
Particularly the loss of freedom of speech.
An American can easily be arrested in Canada or Britain, for being politically incorrect.
Nobody at the U.S. State Dept. - examples of homosexual flags flying at U.S. Embassy in Britain and in Israel - will care, other than to poor fuel onto your incarcerated state, when you screw up outside the American Sector.
OMA-HAAA!!!
Cody, Wyoming has a nightly rodeo during the summer starting at 8 p.m. A fun, low key way to spend the evening.
And just down the street is the Buffalo Bill Firearm Museum. Over 7,000 firearms and 30,000 associated pieces.

I live in Calgary and while I don’t really do the Stampede, I love how our city really becomes one big party for the occasion. There are free breakfasts all over the city, even the stuffed shirts wear western, or at least jeans, and it’s just a great place to be.
Of course it’s always a great place to be.
And, as some other posters have said, we have the gorgeous Rocky Mountains less than an hour’s drive west. And about the same distance east there are the badlands, with our famous museum of palaeontology.
Some great driving roads, too, if you’re into that.
C’mon up!
Cheers,
Jim
