Conservatives we have to get our Act Together!

Posted on 07/15/2014 6:51:41 AM PDT by 2nd Amendment

Fellow conservatives, now is the time for us to decide on a 2016 Presidential candidate. With Hillary the ostensible and heavily flawed democratic nominee, we must decide early and decisively on a conservative contender. We cannot have years of dumb debates that let the democrats chew us up and continue their regime of destruction. Here are some of my handicaps for the 2016 election. 1.Christie - definitely a RINO, back stabbing, recent convert to pro-life positions. -I cannot vote for this man! 2. Jeb Bush - perhaps the most competent of the Bushes, but now way. Way too many Bushes with their baggage. Would vote for him with gag response. 3. Rick Perry- Somewhat more attractive, but inarticulate and too close to Bushes - perhaps weak on immigration. Would vote reluctantly. 4. Sarah - Definitely an ideologically sound candidate. Bit shrill and been kneecapped by liberals - probably unelectable. Would vote avidly for her. 5. Scott Walker. Kinda of an unknown for me. Right on the issues, conscientious fighter . . but little nationwide presence. No problem voting for him. 6. Ted Cruz. Finally a candidate that is moral, rock steady on all the major issues. Been savagely attacked by both Dems and Repubs. Dismissed by Bill O'Reilly and Laura Ingram. A little light on the Resume, but my favorite candidate. Reaganesque in all of his actions. Definitely the candidate to turn America around, but can he get 270 electoral votes and withstand the withering attacks by his own party and the evil ones? If anyone out there in FreeRepublic land can give me additional insight on this topic please feel free to do so. Only the future of our Republic and the SCOTUS hangs in the balance!

You’re very clearly overly-emotional when talking about this subject.

McCain and Romney were indeed moderate - I didn’t say the GOP needed a moderate candidate, they need to find a candidate with crossover appeal that can generate the energy needed to pull enough mushy moderates over into his/her column to win the purple states.

Right now, “true” conservatives like Palin, West, etc will never get closer than Romney did to the White House and would likely lose is a worse manner when the final totals came out.

It’s just the reality of the time. sorry if that doesn’t jive - well actually not sorry - with your worldview but it’s the absolute truth whether you want to believe it or not.

Emotional, yes. We expect cheating, lying and stealing from the left, but when it comes from people we sent money to for years, worked the phones, the office and long days doing footwork, you bet I'm mad. When conservatives told they will be destroyed or other incendiary comment are made, I've had enough. What they did to Chris McDaniel and other people makes my blood boil. These people only care about power, money and controlling other people.

Sarah's been bombshell by the left, the media AND by Romney, rove,....another reason I won't vote rino or for a sudden conversion candidate. (Praise The Lord my eyes have been opened by...).

I want a Ted Cruz or someone who is a fighter and not afraid of the media. The left throws out lies all the time. If our candidate can't stand firmly and speak the truth that sometimes hurts, then they need to do something else. Fighters like Chris McDaniel, fight for what is right. I have NO respect for these metrosexual phony candidates and there BFF’s on the other side of the aisle. They have shown there true ugly face.

Romney wouldn’t have governed as a liberal.

That's exactly what he did as governor.

And while we are fighting amongst ourselves and both sides of the GOP say “my way or the highway”, the Democrat leftist coalition realizes all they have to do is watch the GOP tear itself apart (again) and they’ll return to full control.

Great paradox we have there. If the right wing of American politics was as good at the actual political game as they are forming circular firing squads, this country would be in great shape.

Conservatives have had to give in and go along with the rinos crowned king; romney, McCain... as well as there interference in primaries. Everyone knows how the gop-e helped romney cheat in many states. We lose every time we try to move left, yet they don't learn. The idiots in the rnc don't see that people stay home when the party tries to be politically correct or act like democrats. People are looking for leaders who will stand up to the left and the media, as well as someone with real conservative values.

When Mississippi happened, a line was crossed. If the rnc doesn't make this right with Mississippi, I'll bet Cochran loses. You will have conservatives voting for the democrat or not voting at all. We Conservatives have been the abused wife for a long long time, and we have had enough. When McConnell and Boehner make public statements attacking the base, they made it clear we belong outside the tent. If you've been paying attention, the base is ready to bolt and join a third party or we will stay home like all the other people who don't vote and say all the parties are corrupt.

So you’re angry and in your anger, instead of convincing people that your views are correct you’re just going to quit, go home, and guarantee a Democrat/leftist coalition majority for all time.

Gee, that’s smart. Unfortunately this is what FR has devolved to these days.
