Has the Dept. of Homeland Security Become America’s Standing Army?

With good reason, a bipartisan bill to provide greater oversight and accountability into the DHS’ purchasing process has been making its way through Congress.

A better plan would be to abolish the DHS altogether. The menace of a national police force, aka a standing army, vested with so much power cannot be overstated, nor can its danger be ignored. Indeed, as the following list shows, just about every nefarious deed, tactic or thuggish policy advanced by the government today can be traced back to the DHS, its police state mindset, and the billions of dollars it distributes to police agencies in the form of grants.

Militarizing Police and SWAT Teams

The DHS routinely hands out six-figure grants to enable local municipalities to purchase military-style vehicles, as well as a veritable war chest of weaponry; ranging from tactical vests, bomb-disarming robots, assault weapons and combat uniforms. This rise in military equipment purchases funded by the DHS has, according to analysts Andrew Becker and G.W. Schulz, “paralleled an apparent increase in local SWAT teams"

Well, it would explain all those rounds of ammo they stocked up on.

I didn't see this when it came out in June (and was posted twice on June 16th). Posting it here in case anyone else missed it.

Well, them and the FBI and the CIA and the Bureau of Printing and Engraving and the Secret Service and the National Park Service and BATFE and the DEA and the IRS and ... about a hundred other federal agencies authorized to carry guns (often, in places where citizens cannot). So, yes, DHS and those other guys are the standing army, that our Founding Fathers warned us against.

Look at the title, Dept. of Homeland Security.

What do you think it means? What is the Homeland and what does Security mean?

Same head-count as the USMC and TWICE their budget:

They —Department of Homeland Security— raided a Boston STIP BAR cuz they were using counterfeit New England Patriots Merchandise.

Nice, huh..?

And now overseeing an invasion of the USA.

And YOU are the enemy.

UHHH. Yeah. Why else would they practice invading random cities unannounced. The local police forces are their auxiliary forces.

If that strip bar was raided by US Customs because the counterfeit clothing was being imported, would that be more pallatable?

Ehmm….not to me. I really think they read the report of the potential bust venue and some higher up bored with routine work was intrigued to GET PAID to go to a strip bar in uniform.

He thought it sounded hilarious, and he signed his guys onto this bust and his colleagues laughed their a$$es off about it.

I think this was just wilding, and there aren't enough adults in charge.

It just makes DHS sound stupid.

Cannon fodder. The only ones that scare me are the United States Marine Core. They are the only ones that would have a prayer of taking this country.

These fatass puke stains in DHS are gonna look real stupid out in flyover when they bring their little 9mm zip guns up against .300, .30-06, .308, and .50 hiding in the weeds in full ghillie.

Then we will take their toys and use them against them till they are all dead.

In 1970, we were warned that the government wanted to form a a Federal Police force. We held them off for 31 years, but now we got it whether we want it or not.

“We cannot continue to rely only on our military in order to achieve the national security objectives that we’ve set. We’ve got to have a civilian national security force that’s just as powerful, just as strong, just as well-funded.”

It's important to know that the GOP's hands are just as dirty. Too many here (not you, that I've seen) want to blame it all on Obama and let the GOP off the hook.

Obama didn't build that alone:)
