WASHINGTON, D.C. – First, Michelle Obama seized control of your child’s school lunch and made it “healthy.” Now, the First Lady wants to change the way you buy groceries.

The stated goal is steer consumers toward fruits and vegetables – and away from sugar- and fat-laden items. The plan is in line with “Michelle Obama’s stated second term agenda to ‘impact the nature of food in grocery stores,’” reports FreeBeacon.com

She can try to “steer” people all she wants,
but the fact is, those “consumers” she’s targeting know what they like and what they don’t,
and if they had a pile of fresh fruits in front of them and a 10 oz bag of chips on the other side of an obstacle course, they’d eat the chips.

Of course, just limiting EBT purchases to only ‘healthy’ foods would be far too simple.
EBT card holders know how to ‘manage’ their card to buy cigs. Maybe barter with ‘good’ food, or at store who doesn’t care.
I think this could be a great weight loss tool. No one is going to want to buy food if they have to suffer through pushing a cart around with this harpy’s voice coming out of it, telling you what to buy.
Fruits, vegetables and basic cooking ingredients would be the way for EBT to go. Will never happen though ....

Is there any element of a persons life so mundane and ordinary and private that the unlimited government types think is not their business?
I cannot wait to hear about them bitching that the Tax dollars are not paying
for any more of their extravagant vacations. Can you imagine how their
daughters lives will be? With their heads so messed up any Man would be right
to run for the hills at the sight of either of them. LOL, dysfunctional bliss.
Restricting what you can buy on a SNAP card would be far more effective.

I’m from New Orleans and I think I can safely say if Michelle came down and gave us a choice of a head of broccoli or some friend food - guess what would win. I’m not saying it is a healthy choice, just realistic.
I was behind a person not long ago whose cart contained only MEAT. Mostly steaks, chops, and roasts. Paid for by EBT of course.

At least a food stamp card that can only buy healthy foods will have a lower street value. Fruits and vegetables? That's only worth 20¢ on the dollar rather than the old 50¢.
