I disagree with the phrasing of this question.
Allow?
Government should not RESTRICT the 2nd amendment in any way.

The word “allow” has always bothered me. It is a right and that needs to be addressed instead of “allowing” it.

Yes, they should. And even if they don’t, the students should anyway.

A better question, “When does a public entity have the authority to take away the individual right of self defense?”
To: richardb72
When you start talking about what people ‘should’ have or be able to do, you’ve made the case for the 2nd Amendment.

Poorly worded poll could use some FReepin'.
Should colleges and universities not infringe on any God-given, constitutionally-protected civil liberties?
Should colleges and universities allow students to carry concealed weapons?

Should colleges and universities allow students to carry concealed weapons? Who said they get any say-so? Their campuses are located within in a state that already has laws governing when and by whom it's legal to do so. You might make the argument that people have the right to impose whatever limitations they like, on their own property, but that would apply to, at most, private for-profit universities. State university administrators don't own the university grounds or facilities. The people whom they're trying to regulate do.
