I have spent a little time compiling links to threads about the Ebola outbreak in the interest of having all the links in one thread for future reference.
Please add links to new threads and articles of interest as the situation develops.
Thank You all for you participation.
Dogs remain asymptomatic.
That, and some TSA goon pawing at you with the same gloves they pawed at the rest of the passengers on the flight...(as if that couldn't spread something).
>>>One is a patient who was moved in the same ambulance that took Teresa Romero...
I saw an article earlier on this patient that was most ironic. Funny, if it weren’t so tragic. The patient is the govt. official appointed to manage the nation’s ebola outbreak (I’m thinking the Spanish equivalent to a hypothetical ebola czar).
For him/her to ride in the same contaminated ambulance later that day, and catch ebola would *not* be a confidence builder in the govt’s ability to handle the situation.
I think you read a Google translation that was quite unclear, if it’s the one I read earlier. The ambulance patient isn’t a government official, at least as far as I know. The English translation website version wasn’t nearly as confusing as the Google translate version.
That said, if it *is* the government official, what can one say?
So.. if it was true that their main argument against a travel ban was that people would hide their travels and we would not know where they came from... then why is it they never argued that before yesterday... Before yesterday the argument has always been that we can not do a travel ban because it would stop the help from getting to west Africa and we can not cut off help from that part of the world because that would lead to more infections here...
CDC says Amber Vinson may have had symptoms on flight from Dallas to CLECLEVELAND - Officials with the Centers for Disease Control say the nurse who contracted the Ebola virus may have shown symptoms earlier than first believed.
During a press conference in Summit County on Thursday, the CDC says Amber Vinson may have experienced symptoms on Friday, the day she flew from Dallas, Texas to Cleveland.
Dr. Chris Braden with the CDC says they can not rule out that Vinson had symptoms on Oct. 10 and that now the passengers on the flight from Dallas to Cleveland will be included in the investigation."
Health officials say the Ebola virus is transmitted when a patient is showing symptoms, which could take anywhere from two to 21 days to appear.
Braden says the CDC has also been in contact with Vinson and reports she is "not feeling very well."
Reading between the lines - it seems the CDC is admitting that Vinson has not been forthcoming about when the symptoms began. Basically they’re calling her a liar.
I think you are right. I found a different translation (http://crofsblogs.typepad.com/h5n1/2014/10/ebola-in-spain-person-in-ambulance-after-romero-is-now-isolated.html) and it contains the phrase “according to Fernando Simón, spokesperson for the government’s Ebola management committee”, whereas the earlier translation gave the impression that Mr. Simón was the victim.
What would you like to bet that she called the CDC before leaving Dallas and was given the okay?
