I found an article also, that says a shot was fired from within the vehicle. The deceased may have been on his way to grandmas for milk and cookies, but he may had an appointment with a buddy on the corner first:

This article says that it was the deceased that assaulted the officer:

Both articles say there was a struggle for the officer’s gun after the officer was forced into the vehicle.
Being forced into the front seat would be pretty scary because of restricted space from the steering wheel and being forced into the back seat would be even scarier - locked in the vehicle away from the radio in the middle of the projects.
I”m also going to guess that, at that point, a tazer or pepper-spray would have been unuseable.
I think a ‘normal’ person would have come out of that vehicle blazing, too.
They rioted and looted during their “protest” tonight.
That would be another thread no?
Should the police department really be investigating themselves? Theres gotta be a better way than that including IA investigations.
The STL County Police have been called in to investigate the Ferguson MO PD.
“Tossing all racial issues aside for a second. Should the police department really be investigating themselves? Theres gotta be a better way than that including IA investigations.”
Nothing but net. Internal investigation is an oxymoron. “The BLANK police department has investigated the actions of the BLANK police department and found no sign of wrong doing by the BLANK police department.”
Even in this case, where it jumped to county investigators, it is still cops investigating cops. Who could possibly suspect a biased investigation out of that?
It sounds like the kid might’ve got his hands on the officer’s weapon so the officer had to resort to a back-up weapon. We’ll have to see what gets reported.
Not to worry, I have plenty of anger left for politicians. But I take the blame and assign it as well to all us good conservatives for allowing the welfare state to fester so long. There’s plenty of blame to go around. I used to be a lazy-minded liberal until 9/11, so I’ve got a bit more catching up to do.
