I believe the Tiger Woods era is officially over. If he ever comes back, it will be as a shadow of his former self. Couldn't happen to a nicer guy.

Yesterday's final round was exciting and fun... and there was no talk of Tiger. The three-way stretch run on the back nine between Rory, Phil and Rickie was just great.

Great tournament, although I hoped for a Fowler or Mickelson win.

Tiger is over, the journalists who cover golf can’t figure it out yet. The video of his parking spot was over the top ridiculous.

Rory was fantastic yesterday.

The last final round of a major that came close to being as good was the 2008 US Open where Tiger won the playoff on Monday.

Valhalla is the exciting golf course that Augusta National USED to be.... before they "Tiger-proofed" it.

Birdies, and yes... eagles CAN be made. IF, they hit great shots. Makes for exciting golf.. as the players in front jump into the lead, and challenge the leaders to keep up with them.

Just a FANTASTIC day of golf yesterday. One of the best I've seen in several years.

Although I agree, One caveat - the greens were soft.

OMG...they might have to actually report about GOLF again. Although it will take ESPN a long time to get over it. They still drag out the Michael Jordan highlight reels 20 years later.

I wanted Mickelson. Rory is the new Tiger. As is Rickie Fowler and Justin Speith.

Good to see for golf. I don’t’ disdain Tiger like you do, but it is excellent to see Rory and Fowler on the rise and capturing so much interest. It’s also great for golf to see high interest and ratings without Tiger involved.

Tiger went from tops, to great personal issues, to severe physical issues and his golf game has not recovered.

I enjoyed this weekends final two rounds, Rory’s performance and other player’s performance as well - including Mickelson, Fowler, Stenson and others.

However, to cheer for those guys - which I do - is not to denigrate Tiger. I wish him well, and believe if he could have done better in his personal life and not had his current physical issue, he’d still be a more serious contender in pro Golf.

Rory will eventually overtake Tiger.

Oh... no doubt. But, so were the fairways. :-) Like Augusta, the greens are the big difference makers at Valhalla. When they get hard and fast? It's a MUCH tougher course.

But, birdies and eagles are still possible. You just get more of the "Others" too.

Another similarity to Augusta is how close all the hole are to one another and the way the ROAR of the crowds echo around the course.

I've been to both. Valhalla can't compare to the natural beauty of Augusta. But, I think Nicklaus tried his best to duplicate the 'feeling'.

Don’t you think Rory’s enormous drives put too much pressure on his back and knees? If he’s not careful, he’ll end up like Tiger.

I most certainly hope that the era of Eldrick Woods (I refuse to call him by his silly nickname) is over. I have been rooting against him since he made up a story about being racially harassed in kindergarten.

He has made personal mistakes, so what.

Rory is great for golf and I really like Rikkie. I want Tiger to recover though and make a comeback enough to make this the greatest era of golf since the 30’s. If both Rory and Tiger can get into a few classic battles it would be stupendous for the sport.

I’m a huge fan of McIlroy…cheered him on for the first three days, but yesterday, just as the most exciting PGA round ever began, I climbed into a car and drove to the country to view newborn puppies my daughter was considering. She put a down payment on a puppy girl and I missed all the golf excitement.

Tiger, Jack, Rickie, Rory…I think what the fans really want is not so much a particular player to win, but the experience of being part of the EXCELLENCE they display. Golf is the only sport that’s all about individual effort.

Having so many excellent golfers now makes the game more exciting than when Tiger was always winning.

The NASCAR race was red flagged for 90 minutes and many of those folks tuned in and saw a very entertaining finish. Good luck all around.

I doubt he made it up. What proof do you have he did? People and kids especially can be careless and well dicks. If you think otherwise then you live in an insulated fantasy world.

If the US Open ever had scores like this..the entire tournament staff would be out on their asses the next day..

Course was waaay to easy for a MAJOR...why not have it on a pitch and putt course next time?
