Jerry Brown: Affluent Families 'Not Producing' Children
CNS News ^ | 08/11/2014 | Penny Starr

Posted on 08/12/2014 8:49:35 AM PDT by Rusty0604

“I don't know what the affluent families are doing,” Brown said. “They're not producing or something, because half the kids in schools are from low-income families.”

At the conference, held in San Diego, Calif., in late June, Brown said California had addressed the fact that millions of children in the state’s school do not speak English.

You have to do more to be able to create that opportunity and that pathway for those families that are not having that same skill of speaking English as others,” Brown said.

“It’s pretty amazing,” Brown said. “I don't know what the affluent families are doing.

“They're not producing or something, because half the kids in schools are from low-income families,” Brown said.

Brown also spoke about immigration and “brown power.”

After giving a jumbled history of Spanish and Mexican occupation in California before statehood, Brown said power always shifts, including in the United States.

“The point is, you never keep control forever,” Brown said. “There’s always new waves coming.

“So you’ve got to stay ahead of the wave,” he added. “That’s what we call brown power.”

So do the impoverished with EITC.

You probably don’t get EITC + food stamps, WIC, section 8, free lunch/breakfast/dinner, and who knows what else besides.

Forgive me, but I’m a bit suspicious of this article. These words were attributed to Gov. Moonbeam in June, but the article’s dated yesterday?

I dunno. Myself, I was wondering if an S-peach was less welcome than an M-peach. ;)

Of course, Barky wouldn’t want to hear anything about mpeaching. *grin*

Isn't that what they want? Low income and dark skinned?
It's called "diversity".
Apparently affluent and/or white is not called "diversity" for some reason.

Raising a kid properly, to the same education level as the parents, is more expensive the higher up in income you go.
"Affluent" families can do the math, poor people don't bother.
Why should they? Producing kids and receive more benefits the more irresponsible you are, has done such wonders for "diversity".

Does everyone realize, with the EITC, that there is actually a NEGATIVE income tax bracket?

Democrats for the longest time have treated kids as a competition for the disposable income that families have, essentially competing with the government for that disposable income. So they discouraged having kids.

Now they’re finding out that without kids, there are no future tax payers. They’re realizing that kids are not an expense, but an investment in the future. At least some of them are. But since politics are short-term, I am not expecting the policies to change.

Maybe he needs to look into the Democrat war on marriage and the Democrat war on the middle class.

Stable heterosexual marriage is the lynchpin of entrance into and progression of the middle class. That is why they have to make war on both.

A stable functional middle class has little need for the big government policy prescriptions of the Democrats.

Oh yeah. Literally paid to have children.

But it only kicks in with the third child.

Dear Jerry,

Our affluent white family with five kids left California in 2010 for Wyoming and we’re not coming back.

Sincerely, Megan

The author’s twitter:

“California Gov. Brown the Joe Biden of the West: http://cnsnews.com/news/article/penny-starr/calif-gov-affluent-families-not-producing-half-kids-schools-are-low-income …”

She must think it relevant to write about now.

Might be ‘cause they actually have to pay for their kids instead making taxpayers pay.

As a parent with a gaggle of kids, let me suggest this is a chicken/egg issue.

It’s not that’s the affluent aren’t having kids so much as not having kids is a recipe for being affluent.

Just saying...

The reproducing affluent who are family-oriented have already fled CA as they don’t want their kids learning about condoms and cumbers in 3rd grade. Those left behind aren’t interested in kids.

“They're not producing or something, because half the kids in schools are from low-income families.”

Affluent people are not going to put their children in public schools.

“They're not producing or something, because half the kids in schools are from low-income families.”

Middle class people can't afford many kids.
