There still may be a Redemption Island — that’s where they will exile the editors if they don’t get back to work soon.

BTW — do we know anything about the contestants for this season???

Survivor peaked with the Johnny Fairplay season, season four or five I think. Stopped watching after that because it turned to crap.

It was novel and interesting in the beginning. I can’t believe it’s still going.

With six weeks until the new season, one would think that they’d have most of the season already in the can.

Fine, strike all you want. There are many other editors clammoring to get on the series.

Yeah. The season probably is in the can. CBS usually releases the cast info about a month before the premiere, so we might be seeing something pretty soon.

I’ve always wondered though if there might be editing going on week after week for the show as they get feedback from social media.

I wouldn’t be a bit surprised if that did take place.

My wife loves Backstabber er I mean Survivor. The only way I’d watch is if they gave every contestant a gun and a knife. Last person standing wins.

That's called "The Hunger Games."

And this affects folks with an IQ over 80 in *what* way?

You apparently never investigated the demographics for Survivor. IIRC, the average viewer is at the upper 50% of income and education, and leans right. I also understand that the producer of Survivor -- Mark Burnett -- is a devout Christian and has a produced a number of Christian works, including the recent mini-series about the Bible.

Many of us here at Free Republic follow Survivor. We're not low IQ idiots. In fact, we are smart enough to realize that good TV doesn't have to be something deep and profound and boring (like a right-wing PBS). We recognize that the show is not about surviving the geography, weather, and elements, but more about surviving interperosnal relationships and the strategy of the other players. We also realize the show is heavily edited for entertainment value. And that's OK. OK?

So you have carefully selected people put into a fake situation with fake teams and challenges, and it’s called a “reality” show......glad I’ve never wasted my time watching.

The one million after 39 days is the reality. How you out play, out wit, out last and sway the majority of the jury votes to win is the reality.

Easy to tell the fans from the spams in this thread.

I’ll be in my easy chair with a talk glass of ice water and some popcorn come the first episode of this season.

The post-production team, which consists of around 20 people, are demanding a better health insurance

What, Obamacare not working for them? Shocking

I might watch if they dropped them into Somalia, Afghanistan, the Denali National Forest or Detroit!

Why not put the editors on an island with the producers..let’s see who “survives”

Why not put the editors on an island with the producers..let’s see who “survives”

Editors would survive, but then discover they don't have the money to get off the island, nor any job after their experience.

I think that the editors finally figured out that this gig isn't going to last much longer, and best to get everything they can while the show is still making money.
