Everyone is predicting that Obama will 'grant Executive Amnesty' to illegal aliens before Labor Day.
Can anyone explain to me what law, clause or Constitutional article Obama can cite that permits him the power to do such a thing?

Pardons wouldn't work. All that would do is forgive the past crimes of being in the country illegally. One microsecond after the Pardon was issued, all the illegal immigrants would be committing a new crime, the ongoing crime of being here illegally.
Pardons cannot be granted for future crimes, so that won't work either.
Just what is this lawless creep going to cite that permits him the power to do this?
If he has no power to do it, the States and the Republican conservatives in congress can simply refuse to cooperate.

Clinton gave us “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell”. This measure was meant to overturn the long-standing ban on homosexuals serving in the military. When this law was repealed we should have gone back to what existed before... the ban. We did not. Somehow, we allowed the media narrative to take hold that repealing DADT would allow homosexuals to serve openly.
Obama will do the same here. The logic of the law does not matter. The media narrative does. If they say that his executive action has granted citizenship to all of the illegals, it will be so.
I’ll take that bet Laz. And I pray to God I lose.
And I mean real action and standing up. As an example, not dog and pony crap like using the National Guard unarmed to man the border and do paperwork.

First of all, the ones who can legally perform this public service are craven cowards and are for some reason to afraid execute (in a legal sense :) ) the procedures that would bring about the result we all want. :)
You might not think it possible, but geographically speaking there is much more of California that is indistinguishable from Georgia than resembles the SF Bay Area.

The Obama will make the declaration, couched in terms which well-payed lawyers will craft to complicate (though not refute) meaningful criticism of. He as Executive will act on that declaration, Congress will do nothing but shush a verbose minority therein, any (and unlikely) court challenge will take years to litigate, and no hindrance will be offered countering “I won; go ahead, stop me.” No impeachment will succeed, as the Left will stonewall, the Center will equivocate, and most of the Right will mumble “no point in trying”. No military intervention is even conceivable, as the leadership has been replaced with sycophants.
Most of it is about legacy and being known as the one who put capitalism in it’s place. The narcissist-in-chief has a Robin Hood complex. Think about it, every speech he has made since his first campaign was about the evil rich and the down trodden poor. He wants to be their god but most of all this is the way to destroy America, by diluting her with people of other countries.
That is different, though. The Vietnam draft dodgers committed crimes (dodging the draft) in the past. Their crimes were then pardoned. As long as they didn’t go forward and commit more crimes, they were set.
Illegal aliens committed crimes in the past, in the now, and in the future. As long as they aren’t supposed to be here, they commit crimes.
But only past crimes can be pardoned, There is no blanket pardon for the future.
You make great points. And it will be fascinating (in a sick way) to see the next step in allowing voting. Illegals already get welfare, HCare and education through college. Wonder how voting will be their next “civil right”

You get the illegal protest in every city at the same time like in 2006 where there was up to 1,000,000 protestors marching in the streets of some cities, if just 5%-10% turn violent there is no way to stop them without police/national guard shooting to kill.
Get a few terrorist attacks from ISIS, tie the 2 together, and you have a foreign army waging war against the US on American soil.

All Obama can do is like what he did with the dreamers, give them a temporary work permit and promise to defer deportation action. He has not the mechanism to offer a path to a green card let alone citizenship.
What of the lauded call by Texas of the National Guard to secure the border? nothing?
The only way this will stop is exactly that: “boots on the ground” at the border. Governors must exercise their right to call out the troops and direct them to act for “the security of a free state”, having the intestinal fortitude to solve the problem. If that means drawing a line _behind_ the US Border Patrol (”you guys do your job, we’ll do ours”), then that’s it.
One problem: the Obama has the power to “call out the National Guard”. If a state sends their NG to the border, POTUS will - if nothing else - send ‘em all to Iraq or some such. Hence my continued bafflement of officially disarmed “State Guard” (as in GA).
The left has figured out that they can do ANYTHING under the color of “civil rights”,
including denying real civil rights from their political opponents.
