Saudi King Warns ISIS "Will Reach Europe In One Month, US In Two"

As if the fearmongery and vitriol of UK, Europe and the US were not enough, the Middle-East's 'allied' leaders are now opining on the threat of ISIS. As FOX News reports, The king of Saudi Arabia has warned that jihadists could target the United States and Europe if leaders across the globe do not react to growing terrorist threats as Islamic State militants make advances across Iraq and Syria. "If neglected, I am certain that after a month they will reach Europe and, after another month, America," blasted King Abdullah, adding Cameron-esquely, "they know no humanity." Of course, this is quote ironic given the Saudi's funding of various terror groups throughout the region.

Quite possibly. This country is quite lucky I wasn’t put in charge of the terror campaign against America. I could launch one with relatively few resources that would have immense impact.

Luckily, the terrorists don’t understand America well enough to know how to attack it effectively.

In addition, although the kingdom’s forces are formidable on paper, I strongly suspect they’re a hollow force with no strong desire to protect the country or the royals.

Eggzackly. ISIS, with 5000 or so fighters, mostly in Toyota trucks, apparently routed a couple of Iraqi divisions armed with American tanks, etc. in very short order.

Equipment and training is utterly worthless if men don't have an inner motivation to stand and fight.

In fact, giving such men equipment is counter-productive, since they promptly run away and leave it to be captured by the enemy.

All this said, I don't worry much about ISIS. Reason? Gas prices are going down. Those in the know don't seem to expect ISIS to cause much more disruption in the area.

I’d say one year to Europe and two to the US is more like it. He’s got the right idea, though.

His problem is that it might hit Saudi Arabia in the meantime. The idiotic part of this is that if the Saudis were willing to declare ISIS/ISIL as non-Islamic, as they are defenders of Mecca, and to fight, they would have less to worry about. They want a free ride from their minion, Obama, and his troops, our sons.

There’s one thing we all seem to be missing here...

The Islamic leadership historically and even today DO NOT want to fight themselves. Think about it they prefer to get young fanatics and hot heads doing the fighting and dying if necessary. Go back even further and you see them using Janissaries, who were infidel slaves given the opportunity to shed their chains if they would convert to Islam and fight for it.

The Leaders of the various Islamic countries always want someone else to do the fighting for them. So they support with money and occasionally materiel those who are willing to fight. And now ISIS is the big guns in that arena and they have their sights now set on taking on their former backers so as to become the ‘new’ Islamic leadership for the world.

It’s no wonder the Saudis are putting out their warnings about Europe and the U.S. being targets of ISIS. The Saudi’s are the main target and once again they want someone else to do the fighting and dying for them.

This POS is worried about himself and needs the west to save him again.

Exactly.

Let’s extract ourselves militarily and monetarily from this latest iteration of a foreign entanglement and see how this plays out without us.

The variants of the “religion of peace” (/sarcasm) have enough manpower and weaponry to defeat those (like ISIS) who have hijacked (/sarcasm) the “religion of peace” (/sarcasm) Let them duke/nuke it out.

We have squandered enough of America’s finest individuals and resources in the elite’s/world-shaper’s sand traps. Let their latest orchestrated cr(Isis) play itself out. We can always play the winner at a time and date to be determined.

Stop the internal enemies now. Obliterate the external enemies later. Onward ISIS.

Pound sand, Saudi King Abdullah.

Saudis, like most everyone else, needs American leadership to go into a serious fight. During Desert Storm, in the coalition of GHW Bush, the Saudi air force was active, one of their pilots being credited with the first shoot down of an Iraqi fighter.

Hussein was Sunni as well, as I recall.

I completely agree. Saudi Arabia is NOT our friend. To hell with them. Send your own army, Abdullah.

It’s well known in the muslim-arab world that Saddam & his Ba’ath party followed an ideology mixing Arab nationalist, pan-Arabism, Arab socialist and anti-imperialist interests. Ba’athism called for unification of the Arab world into a single state. Its motto, “Unity, Liberty, Socialism”. That has always been in direct conflict with Saudis strict Wahabi Islam. Moreover, Kuwaiti leadership is related to the House of Saud. Am sure SA is very capable of defending itself. But they won’t take overt & direct military action unless IS or another entity directly attacks SA territory, the House of Saud & their Islam, which they’ve been keen to spread around the world.

“Luckily, the terrorists don’t understand America well enough to know how to attack it effectively.”

I like your line.... to humble 330 million Americans, and have them bow to the east, is sheer lunacy.....the system will totally collapse...no one has tried to conquer a country with such large able population.....in WWII conquered countries had populations in the 30 to 60 million, and still the citizens resisted the occupation....there isn't enough Muslims in the whole world to occupy North America...frankly, I think the Islamic leadership should be shown, what the retaliation air strike will do their cities....shall we say what could happen if they don't back off.....

Why should ISIS even bother with Europe?

The US is the optimal target — if it were to fall, Europe would collapse without a fight.

Saudi Arabia owns a shedload of hi res military hardware, including Eurofighters, why doesn’t it use its own military to defend itself I wonder? Unless of course it fears defection within its ranks.

There has been a U.S. Air Force base over there in Saudi Arabia, SOMEWHERE in the north of the country, since the late 70's or early 80's. We were over there 1980-84 and knew this. FIVE long years. The U.S. base may actually be closer to Basra in Iraq. We never knew for sure, but we DID see one our own aircraft carriers once at the east side of the Gulf.

The K.S.A hired Koreans to defend its country. Back then they used RAY DIK DAE LIM. They were OBVIOUSLY more than construction workers in the petroleum/natural gas business because they were all EXTREMELY FIT, young and had an attitude. They were also VERY SHORT. Our men and they had a "fun" softball game once. Lol. They didn't have a clue, running from first to third base, but they had a great time. It was nice to see them LAUGH and enjoy themselves for a bit.
They were South Korean army regulars doing double duty: construction for ARAMCO (Arabian American Oil Company) and the King's defense team in case of invasion, rebellion, sabotage or the moon dropping from the sky. The king had it covered.

We used to conjecture that the king then (King Fahad..we used to call him "Fat Fahad") paid for it with his POCKET CHANGE. Back in the mid-1980s the KING himself, who owned and still owns ALL THE PETROLEUM and NATURAL GAS, made a lot of money.
The King HIMSELF, personally in 1980 money made: ONE BILLION U.S. dollars every two and a half days. It is estimated that the Saudis have another 200 years of reserves. Just an estimate.

Yikes!

As odd as it sounds I think the Saudis will someday very soon turn to Israel for protection.

Strange bedfellows indeed.

No telling what the Israelis will demand for protection. Not talking money here...other considerations.

Yes, the Israelis should demand Saudis conversion to Judaism & demand allegiance to Israel.

The notion that Islamists pose an actual military threat to the United States, of the nature Nazi Germany and USSR did, is beyond ludicrous.

We have the military capability, if we choose to exercise it, which I certainly hope we won’t, to kill every last Muslim, much less Islamist, on the planet.

These guys have NO military capabilities except those we hand them because of our own unwillingness to do what’s necessary to deal with them. They can’t build any but the simplest military hardware. The equipment they captured from our “allies” is not doubt deteriorating rapidly, and much of it will soon have degraded capabilities or be completely useless. Such equipment requires continuous maintenance. Even assuming they had the parts and expertise to maintain properly, they’re unlikely to do it.

The Islamist mentality of Insha’allah is utterly unsuited to the anal by the book routine necessary. The tank will work if Allah wills that it will work, so why go to all that effort?

Assuming they did have an effective land military, anybody got any suggestions as to how they’d get it here? It’s a really long swim, and the US Navy might have something to say to them on the way.

IOW, these guys are NOT a military threat, to us. They’re a real potential threat to some of our “allies,” but to the US they’re an irritant only. In theory if they get hold of some nukes and smuggle them in, they could take out a US city or two. But they simply don’t have, and have no way of getting, the capability to defeat us militarily. From a military perspective, all such an attack would accomplish is to cause the US to finally take the gloves off.

This analysis is assuming, BTW, that ISIS succeeds in its plan of taking over the entire Muslim world, which is of course itself extraordinarily unlikely. If only because the present rulers of that world like being the rulers, and object to demotion or death, which the spread of ISIS entails.
