In light of today's revelation that the NFL was sent the inside-elevator tape, there is no doubt that NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell will not survive.
The NFL would be smart to appoint Condi Rice as the next Commissioner of the NFL. Besides being a brilliant individual... organized, effective, great negotiator... she is an African-American, and a female (and a huge football fan). Hiring her as commissioner would be a brilliant move to quell any "old boy, white man network" rage that will soon be heard. She would be at ease handling and negotiating with the owners, union and players.
Make Condi the face of the NFL. NOW would welcome it, the African-American community would rejoice, the Players union would be happy, and the public would be relieved as confidence restored... and the NFL would make an historic choice.
If not Condi, the perfect candidate, who is your choice?
Easy choice. I suggested it to Mrs. jimfree about an hour ago.
So the NFL was allegedly sent an ILLEGAL gotten tape. There’s no way to verify. If they verify they could be sued. If the person who’s sent it speaks up, he will be arrested and fired.
I understand Goodell didn’t come down more harshly on Rice, but should he be using illegally gotten evidence? Any lawyer would say return it or dispose of it as you want nothing to do with it.
Great idea. Did you know that she is one of the committee members for the NCAA’s football playoff system?
wrong... tape secured by law enforcement 6 months ago, sent to the NFL headquarters... nothing illegal about that!
At least this would get her off that committee . . for which she is clearly unqualified

An elevator is a closed little room. It's not like he could have pushed her and she fell down, bumping her head on something hard or sharp. In the parts of the video first shown, he literally drags the woman from the elevator, certainly not the mark of someone who regrets a harsh and "accidental" outburst.
No one with the least common sense had any doubt of what happened in the elevator. TMZ simply forced the NFL to confront what everyone else already knew.
As for Roger Goodell, let's hope nobody digs up John Harbaugh's comment on the original suspension, when asked if he though it was too light: "It's time to move on. People are trying to make a big deal out of this, and it's no big deal." Now he says the video, "Changed things." Oh really? You manage a team sport in which tough men knock out other tough men for a living [at least until recently] what do you think you know now that you didn't know then?
