I'm a dyed in the wool ditto-head and have been so for many years. To be honest, I'm finding you less and less "listenable." You seem to be losing your edge. While I download your podcasts, I more and more frequently find myself fast-forwarding past the lengthy spiels on the latest I-phones, sports happenings, and your winning your umpteenth Marconi Award, that is, when I bother to listen at all. Listening to your broadcast used to be the highpoint of everyday. I never thought I'd say this but I no longer count it a great lose if I go for days without listening. I'm heartsick to say it. Please don't think this is a plant or that I'm a seminar caller. Check it and you'd see that I've subscribed since the beginning. I may not do so any longer. Maybe it can be summed up like this: I used to find hope by listening to you but it seems like even you have lost hope. I could say more but won't, except for this: I'm a rock-ribbed, hard core, conservative listener and have been for years. If you've lost me, you've probably lost several thousands. For what it's worth......

Maybe so but it is still the truth. I suspect others may feel the same way. I find that more and more frequently I can listen to whole programs where I feel like it was a waste of time because he goes on and on about a football player cold cocking his girl friend in an elevator, the latest I-phone etc. Give me a break! The country is falling apart. I always listened to his program because I could get the cold hard political facts that the MSM ignored. And don’t dare tell me to go elsewhere to post my honest opinion...I’ve freeped for many years.
He does seem to be unfocused at times. Both my mom and I turn it off when he goes on about silly stuff. To be fair, I do the same when Laura Ingraham talks about how cute her kids are, or Beck and his minions guffaw about whatever. Things in this country are very bad, and likely to get worse, and my patience is low.
If I want to hear some old guy rambling about meaningless junk, I'll listen to myself.
Thanks. Can’t believe I forgot about the cat. It was at that point I stopped listening to the broadcast. Too much is too much.
I take breaks from Rush. Makes it all the better when i start listening to him again.
I too am not a fan if his Apple love or football love either.
Mark Levin has replaced Rush as must listen to radio. Plus I love his podcasts are free.
I also rarely listen anymore - a trend that began 2-3 years ago.
His “news” is old and I typically read it here or on Drudge before Rushbo reads it in his program.
In addition, his RINO-ism began showing during his last marriage and talking/adoring about Elton John. Rush hides it RINO-ism better these daze.
So I agree with the poster - Rush has lost his edge and really has nothing left to offer me.
I have horrible reception in my work place, so I listen to podcasts, and free ones

You must not have been paying attention over the years.
Rush has always talked about his cats. He’s always talked about computers. He’s always talked about golf. He’s always talked about football.
And since he’s been on the air for 26 years and he’s won 5 Marconi awards, not sure that that qualifies as ‘umpteenth’ times.
Yes, those are good points, I think. Several programs have a lot of fluff in them, which I don’t care for.
And I tend to tune out the talking heads who banter back and forth about nothing pretending they are long lost brothers, when they probably don’t even know each other...I’m talking about NEWS broadcasts.
Seems to be more personality contests and little hard news.
I guess I’m showing my age. The country is falling apart before my eyes. I hardly recognize it anymore. I’m old enough to say what I think without worrying too much about stepping on someone’s toes. End of rant.
I couldn’t have said it any better myself. Maybe all of us old codgers need to stick together and take to the streets and demonstrate. May not change anything but would do wonders for my mental well being!
Rush is great spokesman and only gets better with time. I love him and his show. I think you’re expecting too much. He relentlessly takes on the liberal challenge every day. God bless Rush!
To each his own but he sure seems to me to talk more and more about less and less. Yes, he’s talked about his cats etc. over the years but I’ve managed to tune it out but now it is just too much to tune out. His programs seem to me to be a waste of time, pretty much....just being honest. If you enjoy listening to all of that then by all means, go for it! I’m not trying to offend you. I think we have a lot in common. No one would be happier than me if he’d get back to basics. I’d probably be the first one in line to listen.
Football and golf stories bug me? Yes. Sometimes. But every day is not my best day, and I allow for this with others as well. Enough said.

Maybe so. No one can deny his talent and contributions. I wish I still felt as you do. I did so at one time but he seems to me to be losing his touch. But another thing, I’m a paid subscriber to his program and have been so from the beginning. If you understood how tight I am, you’d understand the enjoyment I received from listening to his programs over the years. Sadly, that is starting to change. No one is as unhappy about it as I am. Nothing personal but Free Republic is the one place I can go and offer my honest opinion. I don’t expect everyone to like it.

Yeah...well...I’m not a sports fan. Not interested in that nor his cat in the least. But he seems to “over-dwell” more and more, especially the last few days. Not to be unkind but I don’t like having to wade thru 30 minutes of drivel to get to 5 minutes of political news and analysis. Someone else posted that I haven’t been listening. I beg to disagree, I HAVE BEEN LISTENING but it is getting to be very old. To each his own.
