As candidate pools keep getting worse and worse I’m finding myself less willing to vote for candidates that are slightly less pathetic than their opponent.

Your argument is self actualizing. After a generation of holding our noses to vote for the lesser of two evils, we have lowest taxes ever, a secure border, abortions are no longer being funded by tax payers, our schools are the best in the world…oh wait, it hasn’t quite worked out that way. Sorry, sometimes you have to look beyond the short term, and focus on long term goals. As long as the Party can expect us to fall in line, they will never take the platform seriously.

I will be voting a straight Republican ticket in order to protect our republic. The left is determined to destroy it and replace it with their version of centralized government.

So is the GOPe... Show me where they have tried to stop it.

They huff and puff but never even attempt to blow the house down.

So with that, who are you going to vote for? Both parties are headed to the same goal posts.

and there you have identified the problem.

The political party has 2 names, but one mission.

We are not part of that mission. Those still backing the GOPe are.

You GOPe shills are one trick ponies.

Beats being a Dem shill by a mile. Look in the mirror. You are supporting the Harry Reid strategy whether you like it or not. You have his blessing.

My 2016 Dream Team: Ted Cruz and Trey Gowdy. How's that for shilling for the GOPe? I am Tea Party all the way. 24 and 7.

Another Emperor Obama Hero Medal for you, Sir.

The RATS got into power incrementally. If you think you will get them out in one fell swoop, you are living in La-La Land.

You can try and relate me to Obama.. it exposes you.

The political parties have offered up a crap samich and a crap bagel..

I refuse to eat.

The problem is NOT me. Its what is being offered.

And before you go off on me about not being involved. I was and got who I wanted to vote for in my state house district.

So will I be going to vote? yes I will. Will I vote for 1 of two different crap samichs? No.

"If you want more of something, subsidize it... " ~Ronald Reagan. I'm taking that quote out of context, but it applies. RHINOs keep winning because people continue to vote for them. They don't care if you're holding your nose or not. When majority of Americans don't pay attention to politics, it's my belief that the Republican voting citizens will generally vote for whomever is the R nominee. If that means a D is needed to unseat an incumbent RHINO in order to enable a conservative who can more easily beat the D next election (at least in red states), then so be it.

That being said, i think the reason Freepers are so divided is that it comes down to level of comfort with RHINOness (which, like risk amount and insurance, is a subjective decision). If the vote was between Hitler and Stalin, I think you'd see a lot more people voting third party. When it's John McCain vs someone like Wendy Davis, it's not so clear. At this point, I'm tired of explaining how Republicans are not conservative, so failed Republican policies aren't failed conservative policies despite how much a RHINO may sound like a conservative. Additionally, I'm tired of rewarding bad policies. As a result, I'm more in the purity camp. I would probably "compromise" for Rand Paul, but if McCain or Romney runs again, I won't vote for either of them. Additionally, if I lived in the respective states, I would definitely vote D over the following people: Boehner, McConnell, John McCain, and Thad Cochran

One other note, not voting is always stupid. If you don't like either candidate, vote third party or write someone in. Abstaining looks like apathy when votes are tallied, whereas a third party vote is a direct vote of dissatisfaction.

I’m living in la la land? Where was I living in 2000-2006, when the R’s had control of the House, Senate AND WH, and did NOTHING with it. Instead, we got the so called ‘patriot’ act and a legacy of bailouts. Silly me. Here I was expecting immigration reform, reduced spending, balanced budgets, etc., which is why I worked so hard for the R’s in 2000. Won’t make that mistake again!

Exactly. Doesn't mean we ain't voting. We just ain't voting for your lesser of evils. We've done it time and again, always with the same result. Redleg must enjoy getting stabbed in the back, methinks. I won't be joining you and the rest of the GOPe slobbering morons. Bring on the D's - just means we'll get where we're headed much sooner. I'm ready. It's way past time. Question is, will you be patriotic enough to make the stand? I seriously doubt it.
