It was a late March day when notice arrived that Fifi’s services would be required. She would have two days to prepare — two days to travel from her London apartment to Liverpool, two days to memorize the physical details of her “prey.” His name was Quinaux. He was 28. Black hair. There has long been myth of a World War II secret agent, code-named “Fifi.” Called “one of the expert liars of the world,” she was tall and blond and stunning — fluent in multiple European languages and equipped with an acerbic wit and keen intuition, the stories held. Most dismissed the stories, however, as too tall. This wasn’t the movies.
But those myths were substantiated Wednesday in a trove of documents released by the United Kingdom’s National Archives — more than 240 pages of handwritten notes, telegrams and detailed reports that are rich with intrigue, seduction and World War II espionage. Taken together, they shed greater light on a period that marked the beginning of modern espionage and portray Fifi as a supremely talented, though vulnerable, figure. I was trying to figure out how a female spy could get anywhere with British men, considering how whipped they are. Then I realized they were talking about the 1940s...a TOTALLY DIFFERENT generation of men.

I disagree. As a teenager that couldn’t get a date to the senior prom and then joined the military, I was always aware that any attractive women that “came on to me” was a spy (or a hooker). Luckily, my teen acne cleared up and I found a great woman at Church.
