Tim Tebow had more favorable coverage while at Florida than any athlete I can remember. He was regularly praised for his character and leadership. The media did not turn on him until someone decided he could not succeed in the NFL. The commentators for college football are much more conservative than those who follow the elite thugs of the NFL. The NFL does not seem to have character qualifications for employment.

. . and nobody in the media ever made any fun of him for “Tebowing” while still at UF. Right. Nobody came up with a new rule that Bible passages were no longer allowed to be on the eye black. Right.

Are you honestly going to say any of that had nothing to do with the media?

Right.

Tebow’s character was noted, only because he exuded it and Winston also exudes his. The problem is that nobody in the major sports media is willing to put Winston’s character on display. To equate the two is balderdash.

The NFL does have character qualifications, the only problem is that money gets in the way of enforcing them.
