My wife and I did not go to see the movie to pick it apart.

We went to see AS III to enjoy a movie afternoon and to find out if it would be helpful in advancing the conservative cause.

My wife and I both enjoyed watching the movie, and we both believe it will advance the cause.

It certainly made a very strong statement about the abject failure of the LIEberal/Socialist/Marxist/Fascist political/economic/social system being rammed down our throats by our own government(s) — federal, state and local!

I’ll probably go see AS III again, and will take one or more FRiends with me. I’ll fer shure, fer shure buy the AS III DVD!

It is regrettable that you were so picky-picky.

If you are so damn smart about Ayn Rand and Atlas Shrugged, why didn’t YOU make the movie?

My wife and I went to see all three movies. I’ve bought a couple hundred dollars in merchandise from the AS store online tied to the trilogy.

Yet I’m not allowed to have an opinion that the movies were horrible?

Your argument is weak. I have no interest in producing, directing, screenwriting or acting in movies. Yet I can certainly critique them, particularly having invested time and money to watch them.

You’re no different than a dogmatic DUmmie defending Obama. Following your logic, no one could criticize his abysmal presidency unless they were also POTUS, gay, black, Muslim, etc.

As for your argument about the message, the delivery of it through this medium killed it. It was the equivalent of putting a copy of Rand’s book in a bag of dog feces and expecting people to get past that in order to understand the message.

You say that you have “see[n] all three movies.” “. . . and bought a couple hundred dollars in merchandise from the AS store online tied to the trilogy.”

If that is true, then you have done such a huge disservice to the AS trilogy!

Best to keep you negative opinion to yourself; we conservatives have enough trouble without initiating any additional circular firing squads!

It is entirely possible that your negative comments kept some people away FRom AS III who may just have enjoyed it, as my wife and I did!

Did you think about that before you ran off your mouth?

As for your asinine comment about criticizing Ophonybama, that analogy will not work: I criticize Ophonybama because he and his administration are corrupt through and through and they all deserve the criticism. I sure as Hell do not need to be “. . . POTUS, gay, black, Muslim, etc.” to criticize him! All I need to be is an American!

I will FReely admit that the AS III movie was not an earthshaking film in the conventional sense. HOWEVER, I and my wife and many of the people (there were only about 20 people at our screening) liked it and applauded at the end.

If you are a true conservative and an AS believer, your obligation, IMHO, is to get people out to see it and let them make up their own minds.

Your hugely negative comments probably caused some people who might have gone to see it to stay home, and for causing them to do so, you should be ashamed of yourself!

Perhaps some of the people your adverse comments caused to stay home would have liked it and recommended it to their FRiends?

Americans need to go see this movie!

Your comments are not helpful.

Nope. There is no obligation - for the common good, because you said so, or for any other reason. If you can’t understand that, then you don’t really understand AS, or The Fountainhead for that matter.

I strongly recommend AS the book and buy it for people from time to time.

I will never recommend the AS movie trilogy.

A is A.

I have to agree. The books are worth reading for the substance, but the writing and subplots are poor. The movies suck all the way around...

Keep in mind that what we have here is a disagreement of opinion.

You have yours and I have mine, and each of us believes the other to be in error.

I stand by my statement: “If you are a true conservative and an AS believer, your obligation, IMHO, is to get people out to see it and let them make up their own minds.”
