I tried the roller coaster and a hang glider simulation. With the noise canceling headphones and the ability to look all around you, you are completely removed from reality.
On a conscious level I knew I was sitting in my office but if I looked up I could see the fluttering fabric of my glider and if I looked down, the Grand Canyon.
The sound of the wind and the peaceful beauty was so relaxing and disorienting because, while it was so real, I knew I was still sitting in my office.
Wierd, scary and totally the future.
OK. So you put on your virtual reality headset and you see a virtual reality headset. You pick up that headset and look into it. What do you see?
Would add an interesting dimension to telecommuting.
Especially if you can change the reality of yourself and your co-workers...
