US and French Attacks on Sinjar Kill 16 IS Militants

For the last three days, United States and French warplanes have shelled the Sinjar city center and the surrounding areas in northern Iraq.

According to sources from Peshmerga forces in the area, as a result of Tuesday night airstrikes on the Yezidi majority town, sixteen Islamic State (IS) militants have been killed along with the destruction of ten IS-stolen Humvees.

The Peshmerga source also told BasNews that after the attacks, as an act of revenge, the Islamic insurgents burned about 60 houses in Sinjar.

The source also revealed that the Jihadi group has planted IEDs in some neighborhoods in Sinjar.

This report comes following Tuesday night’s airstrikes that hit areas close to Kobani, the Kurdish city in Northern Syria near the Turkish border.

Rami AbdulRahman, Coordinator of the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, said the warplanes that carried out the raids around are 30-35 km west of Kobani.

A U.S.-led alliance started air strikes on Islamic State in Syria on Tuesday.

The Islamic State, which has captured land in Syria and Iraq, launched an offensive against the predominantly Kurdish town of Kobani last week, forcing more than 130,000 Syrian Kurds to flee.

Let see, 47 tomahawks X 1.5 mil = $7050000.00 /16 = $440625.00 per rag-head, and that's not counting the F-18/F-16 fuel-out, op costs, weapons,pilot salaries,etc. That's not including the Carrier op costs, mind boggling, uh??
