That's true but who has time for music anyway when there's Free Republic to occupy so much quality time? By the way, your tax proposal (on your "About" page) is quite possibly the most sane way to restore American prosperity that I've seen since the days of President Reagan. It's very well designed and quite viable. American just needs the no-nonsense leadership to implement it.

With respect to performing artists, I've always considered them the "court jesters" of the modern age.

Back in medieval times, court jesters served a necessary purpose. They entertained and provided a "diversion" for the serious-minded people at the time. Court jesters had zero political power and their political views were considered about as seriously as those of a five-year-old child.

I see conservatives needlessly getting worked up about a performing artist because they hold this or that political view. We cannot take the views of these people seriously. They are ENTERTAINERS! They exist to entertain and divert us. Generally speaking, their minds think differently then us. They are still childlike. They should hold no political power and while we can certainly indulge their unique way of looking at things - much as a doting father would bemusedly listen to the adorable nonsense of his child - we should not ever take them seriously.

In other words, just relax and let them sing and entertain us.
