FULL TITLE: Former KISS songwriter busted on five counts of child pornography after authorities 'tracked images to his computer'

A South Carolina guitarist and former KISS songwriter was arrested and charged with child pornography on Friday.

Stephen A. Coronel, 63, of Bluffton, former member of Wicked Lester -- the rock and roll band that preceded KISS -- was arrested for 'sexual exploitation of a minor,' according to a Beaufort County arrest report.

Authorities say that Coronel was arrested with five counts of the sexual exploitation after a search of his Plantation Point apartment.

Sgt. Robin McIntosh of the Beaufort County Sheriff's Office told the Charlotte Observer that deputies seized evidence and a number of electronic devices from Coronel's home.

The investigation reportedly began when the U.S. Department of Justice's Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force determined that child pornography had been uploaded from a Bluffton home.

The material was tracked to Coronel's computer. Tracked: Officials tracked pornographic images of children to Coronel's computer in Bluffton, South Carolina

I never understood why anyone liked this kitschy garbage.

I guess kids, but now in old age, still taking it seriously?

I wanna rock n roll all night, Beth.

It’s just fun escapism. Compared to todays meat dress ‘talent’ guys like Kiss were the personal spawn of Beethoven.

And they made solid rock tunes popular after 40 years.

I never got the supposed ‘greatness’ of Page. Hendrix I finally came to terms with but JP? Sloppy player. It fit the songs. But his rock guitar god status just baffles me.

I mean sure, he’s far better than I am or will ever be. But that hack you hang out with smokes him by orders of magnitude ;)

Kidding aside, I really do owe you big for reintroducing me to Zaza’s music though.

“Did he write Christine 16?”
“Crazy how many Rock songs back in the ‘70’s glorified “messing around” with underage women.”

The updated version would have to be Christine Fifty-Six and I doubt it would sell as many records as Christine Sixteen.

Yeah, Zaza is incredible! He’s resting up right now for a sold out month’s tour of China and Japan. They appreciate virtuoso players there. Here, Cyrus and Gaga! Shame, eh? This song is the youth anthem in South Korea;

Just passing along what one of the deacons at my church told me years ago.

Now there's an authority on the subject. *rolling my eyes*

If my memory serves right, Gene Simmons said that they chose "KISS" because their other four-letter choice would have never been spoken on the radio nor printed on the album covers. He is in the business to make money and that would not have worked out.

That trout-and-snapper (if you get my drift) story has varying degrees of truth to it, depending which surviving member of Zep you ask. And in what venue you ask it. LOL Sometimes they were present, sometimes they were a participant, sometimes they weren’t even in the hotel when it happened. But, like David Lee Roth said, “Who am I to let the facts get in the way of a good story?” LOL

Well, don't be too harsh on my coC deacon and good friend. Most of our congregation, including the preacher, carry out guns to services. The preacher says that the Second Amendment protects our rights to Worship God. And this deacon is a fine man, raised a good family, supports Governor Sarah Palin and is a big fan of Senator Ted Cruz. He's also a FReeper but hasn't posted recently. He was among those at my church who told me about Free Republic on September 16, 2001 when I asked about a reliable source for 9/11 news.

So yeah, he's not a rock music expert but is truly a great guy. He's a bit older than I am (yes, that is possible) and probably latched onto something that put the rock subculture in a bad light.

Ken Osmond aka “Eddie Haskell” went on to become an LAPD cop.

gene simmons was a schoolteacher before rock star.

Yep, originally Simmons wanted the group to be called F***.

And as far as being "satanic" Simmons just laughs at people who think that.

When someone calls him the devil because of his makeup, he just says: "How do YOU know what the devil looks like?"

"...Some of the most “satanic” bands out there have some of the firmest Christians in them..."

Exhibit B: Alice Cooper. Once fled a date with Racquel Welch because she came on too strong and promiscuous, and he married his GF who he remains married to after many years.

I think it was his appearance on the Muppet Show that scared him straight.

Good example.

Its also true that a lot of them did stupid crap as young wealthy rock stars that they wouldn’t do today as adults.

Yea but that’s pretty much every rock band regardless of number or ethnic/religious makeup. The only difference between Teen idols singing songs of teenage longing in the 50s and Spinal Tap singing “Sex Farm” is the directness of the lyrics.

Both boiled down to ultimately getting into someone’s pants.

Beth is just about their best song. Never did care for them but I didn’t hate them either. They were a decidedly average band in an age of giants, and like you said, they made their living off of their shtick.

Their 1st live album as AWESOME. To this day songs from that double album make this old guy wanna rock out.

Black Diamond just killer

Long verson of Let Me Go Rock & Roll, while simplistic still makes this ol guitar player happy when I get to hear it.
