They did manage to work in a couple of Beatles tunes into the series finale
Since the finale had a weirdness arting of 120%, it would still be "completely weird". For those who need a reference, (

I see.
Very different from what is taught in Vacation Bible School.

It won’t get any rating from this household.

I got a weird kick the other day watching a late-1960s episode of “The FBI.” A scene was shot outside a motel and its surrounding parking lot. It looked awfully familiar, and I did a little research and verified it was a motel in North Hollywood that I stayed at myself one week around 1990.
As for “Highway Patrol,” if I were somehow restricted to only five tv-series to watch repeatedly for the rest of my life, “Highway Patrol” would indeed be among that five.

I could never understand why both Tony Nelson and John Steed seemed so oblivious to their companions.
Regarding Steed, two possible explanations:
1. Mr. Peel might still be alive somewhere, and Steed has his English honour.
2. Watch again, and you can feel a little romantic playfulness under the surface, which is a build up for when the cameras aren't rolling, as Steed has his English honour.
Regarding Tony Nelson, he did eventually marry the girl. And of course, the second Darrin didn't make my list, and we now know (and perhaps always suspected) that he would be more interested in Paul Lynde than Elizabeth Montgomery.

Hardly a few months go by that I don’t have to correct someone about the immaculate conception.

Now that I think back the series finale didn’t answer any lingering plot questions I had. In fact, I walked away with more questions, not less. I personally think the script writers were on blotter acid. “Doctor Who” was on at the same time and a lot of people thought that was weird. Compared to “The Prisoner”, “Doctor Who” was as sedate as “Postman pete”.

Good grief, man, what a list. How did you ever recall those cultural gems? Also, why did you leave out “Car 54, Where are you”?

Well, a show about two knuckleheaded cops wasn't quite weird enough. Heck, Fred Gwynn's stranger role was being a Frankenstein monster who married a vampiress and siring a vampire and a gorgeous blonde.

Which is why Patrick McGoohan had to hide in Switzerland for a while after it aired.

The Immaculate part refers to the Virgin Mary having been conceived without Original Sin. It’s nothing physical.

We will have to explain the difference between the two until the end of time, especially to those who are trying to mock it.

On just dumbness, there is an awful lot of competition that is to obscure and awful to even make it in reruns. "Me and the Chimp" comes to mind [Mike Reynolds (Ted Bessell) is a dentist who lives with his wife (Anita Gillette), two children (Scott Kolden and Kami Cotler), and a chimp named Buttons, a washout from the space program (though unknown to Mike and his family until an old army sergeant visits).]
THAT was thought of AFTER the failure of "The Hathaways" with Peggy Cass as "mother" to three performing chimps. Peggy Cass?!
Note: The lovely lady in the picture is NOT Peggy Cass.

I’d forgotten about “Lock Up.”
Actually, one my top favorite Ziv shows is one of its earliest, “Boston Blackie” with Kent Taylor. Hokey and lightweight, but it has that brisk b-movie elan to it, and often featured interesting on-location backdrops for their action-piece finales.

Some unsuccessful series were even stranger.
I must have seen an episode of “It’s About Time” as the theme has haunted me unmercifully.

And, of course, Richard Benjamin’s Quark.

I’ll give BB a few more vires. I did like that Bmovie feel.
Check out the actors cutting up behind the final credits of “Lock Up”.
