FULL TITLE: Girl Scout membership plummets for second straight year losing more than 100,000 members
For the second straight year, youth and adult membership in the Girl Scouts has dropped sharply, intensifying pressure on the 102-year-old youth organization to find ways of reversing the trend.
According to figures provided to The Associated Press, the total of youth members and adult volunteers dropped by 6 per cent over the past year — from 2,994,844 to 2,813,997.
Over two years, total membership is down 11.6 per cent, and it has fallen 27 per cent from a peak of more than 3.8 million in 2003.

That may be part of the story. I think both Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts are seeing a decline as kids spend a lot more time with sports and don't have time for other activities.
With radical “leadership,” they’ll never connect Cause with Effect. They’ll blame it on the parents, just the way failing pols blame their fate on the unwashed voters.
I think it is obvious that the Girl Scout leadership thinks they can have it both ways. They depend upon middle class families to fill their troops, but then try to teach anti-family doctrine to their “girls.” My daughter quit because of their doctrinal lectures. Kind of scary when a middle school kid realizes that her girl scout leaders were actively trying to teach her to oppose her parents’ beliefs.
How long will it be before these Leftists get desperate enough to force children, who attend gubmint school, to become members? Think forced union membership and dues.

What all these organizations that have been run by ‘60s and ‘70s kids “grown up” into “adult” “activists” don’t realize is they’ve become hopelessly dated and outmoded by going with their completely antiquated “agendas.” People living in 2014 don’t really want their kids in the clutches of someone who longs for 1969.
Planned Parenthood is toxic, as they should be.
I’m noticing a lot less of their stupid running ribbons this October too.

It is of late a hard core feminist organization that promotes abortion and lesbian lifestyle. Most mommies of little girls are not hard core feminists and would kind of like to have grandchildren. As the BSA slowly gives in to the Queer pressure and atheist pressure it will experience the same decline.

But there are still close to 3 million still involved in the GS. I wouldn’t be so sanguine about that level of participation.
