Unexpected by whom? It was predictable, given everything he has done thus far.

Agreed! I have pretty much given up on having discussions with liberals. One of my last efforts was during the Trayvon Martin kerfuffle a little over a year ago. My lib “buddy” said, “All I know is Zimmerman had a gun, Trayvon died. End of story.” He was right about one thing—that was really all that he knew. He hadn’t followed the trial, didn’t hear the witnesses, ignored the injuries on Zimmerman’s head consistent with it being bashed on the ground. No, he was going with: “Gun guy alive, Black kid dead. QED.” Same story in Ferguson today.
What you’re seeing there is a lib with a pre-conceived conclusion (and that conclusion is sanctimonious “I’m anti-racist”, therefore “I’m a good person”).
Any facts that didn’t support the “I’m a good person because I’m anti-racist” conclusion would not even be acknowledged.
See, it’s not about whether racism was involved in the situation in question, but whether the lib needed an affirmation of his own good personhood with regard to the situation.
I will grant him that about the MSM, but the trad catholic blogs are up in arms about him putting lib bishops in charge of writing this up. yes, hate the sin, love the sinner, but you cannot blur the lines about what is right/wrong, and that’s a consequence of what he has been doing. not unlike a parent who pooh poohs the bad stuff that his kids are doing and goes on about how much he loves them no matter what they do. YES< you love your kids no matter what they do, but you make damn sure that you communicate what is right and what is wrong and that WRONG IS UNACCEPTABLE. I see the Pope as a permissive parent who is hoping to cajole the sinners into giving up their bad acts by loving them to death, but really not putting much emphasis at all on the biblical truths which lay out right/wrong.

You are getting to be quite the limericist. Keep ‘em coming.
far too many excuses being given for the tone the Pope is setting.
ok, you need to stop now. I feel like this when xshub puts MSNBC on just to see what lunacy they are espousing and then I have to get up and leave the room bc I just can’t take it any more!
Exactly. “I’ve got my conclusion—don’t confuse me with facts.”
being alarmed and dismayed about Pope Frank does not disillusion me in the slightest about the Church or God. I am not going to put rosy glasses on to observe what he’s doing just to feel better about things, I am going to call them as I see them. God IS in control, no matter what Pope Frank does.
+!
Using a “midwifery” defense of abortion is somwhat ironic ....
OK, I’ll stop. It really is unending.
very cute, but I fear for the little boys sexual orientation! he should be playing hockey!! LOL!

Nice to hear i'm not the only one who acts like that
As though there were no intersection of hockey and male dance!
C’mon, now. He’s having the time of his life.
touché@!
if xsboy had spent his spare hours memorizing dance moves I would have been concerned....
