The fix of government interference is a thousand times more dangerous (even to this very child, and without doubt to his children) than not doing anything.
There is a great deal of circumstantial evidence backing up my assertion, and at the same time pointing out the danger of your position.

I have seen some pictures of welts on the boy’s thighs but have only read reports of lacerations to his testes. Reports are often false and vindictive.

I have spanked my kids but I do not switch them. I found that by having spanked them early they listened much better as they got older. Mostly I would flick them on the head to get their attention, which sharpened their focus very quickly.
Sons often spend their time as fathers replicating the way they were fathered of making up for the mistakes of their fathers. I do not judge anyone but myself. My kids KNOW they are loved.

The NFL’s got nothing to fear in discovery on that one. They successfully suspended without pay PacMan Jones for over a season and a half all told and he never even had charged filed. Peterson got charged and he’s getting paid. He won’t sue, and if he does the league won’t settle and he will lose.

Sorry, while I am very much willing to go physical, and he knows it, I would not “switch” a child this way for discipline, repeatedly and apparently on bare skin.
You are right about the “vindictive” part, as these days just a wimpy touch is considered “abusive”. But there ARE cases of physical ABUSE, as opposed to DISCIPLINE, whether that is intended or not.
