Great opening, as most of those in Parloament were in fact admitted to the bar!
So, a truck driver was driving down the road, when up ahead he saw a priest walking down the shoulder.
He wheeled over and said, “Father, let me give you a lift.”
The offer was gratefully accepted, he climbed up into the cab, and they pulled back out onto the road. After a couple of miles they spotted Barack Obama walking down the shoulder. Now, the trucker immediately got nervous, because his normal policy was to run over politicians. But he just couldn’t do it with a priest aboard.
So, exercising every bit of self-control he could muster, he drove past Obama without swerving to hit him.
But to his great surprise, as he went past he heard a loud “thump-thump”!
Immediately, he turned to the priest and exclaimed, “Father, I swear, I didn’t hit him!”
To which the padre replied, “No need to worry, my son. I got him with the door!”
