What Does Societal Collapse and Martial Law Look Like?

America’s Level of Preparedness

A brief summation of the Adelphi study reveals the following:

44 percent don’t have first-aid kits 48 percent lack emergency supplies 53 percent do not have a minimum three-day supply of nonperishable food and water at home 55 percent believe local authorities will come to their rescue if disaster strikes This means that 56% of those with first-aid kits, 52% of those with emergency supplies, and 47% of those who have more than three days worth of water, will be victimized by those who have not properly planned. Please allow me to put this into a real number for you. Over 130 million teenagers and adults will be in the streets seeking to obtain life-sustaining resources in a very short time following the disaster event. This is a train wreck starting to happen.

Snow? I grew up in North Dakota. I know about snow, but I gave it up. You are welcome to my share of snow.

I hate these people.

No, I’m not talking about preppers. I’m talking about all the morons who would riot over f*cking big-screen TVs. I wish we were more like the Japanese. Even after the big earthquake, tsunami and nuclear meltdown, there was order, because the Japanese were strictly self-disciplined.

I love ‘da snow! I have never got tired of it and If I haven’t by now I guess I never will! I do understand those who don’t care for it tho, from past experiences or just whatever reasons. If I had to drive in it, (more than just the couple of trips I make down into town each week), I might not be such a fan tho!!!

Yep, I got to see Hull and Mikita play in 1967, first year of expansion. The last game I saw, was 09-10 season in San Jose, when they won their first Stanley Cup in a ton of years. Hull and Mikita had a feud with the owner, but he died and left his son in charge, who has a different attitude than his old man. He actually wants to win, unlike his dad. As a result, Hull and Mikita are regulars at the UC again. It was nice to see them blow out Montreal. I disliked them more than any other team.

Not true. the EMP intensity difference between a 1kT, a 10kT, and a 100kT device are not that significant if detonated at the same altitude (greater than 20 miles or so)

Yep. They still get it wrong. Good to see you posting. I think both Compton and Carrington would be a bit concerned about the latest solar activity. JMHO.

>> name a disaster that will disable all of the US at once <<

1. Earthquake
2. Grid Attack
3. Large Solar Flare
4. Asteroid Impact
5. Civil War
6. Large Scale Terror/False Flag Attack

Need more?

Better to have it and not need it than to need it and not have it.

In any such event, this ‘selfish’ prepper will not hesitate to use lethal force to protect my people and my supplies.

Have a nice day.

I predict that in the small towns across America people will help one another. But in the big cities it will be full blown anarchy and mayhem. Once the unprepared have consumed everything within the city and sober up they will attempt to move to the suburban areas. That is when the major bloodshed will begin.

I enjoy snow in moderation. I can stand it for a day or two but anything longer is terrible. That may have something to do with the “needles growing out of my hand” feeling from the frostbite I had years ago. But snow is beautiful!

Ha! Not at my bug in location. Some will get a 8oz. bag of rice and a quart of water and a fond farewell. A great many others will get far, far less...but more than nothing.

To have a significant effect on the US, it would have to be a high altitude burst of at least 1 megaton.

Or your average CME from Ol' Sol at midday in the US.

"...I wish we were more like the Japanese. Even after the big earthquake, tsunami and nuclear meltdown, there was order, because the Japanese were strictly self-disciplined..."

Little known fact: The Yakuza were mostly Koreans who took Japanese names and insinuated themselves into Japanese society. They were not ethnic Japanese. Maybe today their ranks hold Japanese criminals, but the beginnings were strictly Korean criminals.

What evidence do you have to support this belief? I see a lot of dirtbags out in the country and in small towns.

I used to romanticize the country and small towns until I actually moved there.

when the wind blows the right way, I can smell the meth lab from my house!
