Tonight on ESPN the WSOP (World Series of Poker) is being televised. I love watching this and I was wondering if there are other Freepers that enjoy the WSOP?
Gotta confess I do like me some poker.
I love it when the older guys make it to the finals.
The very quit reserved types instead of some young online hotshot.

Just a word of advice to anyone who intends to record this, as A LOT of time to your video, it often runs long.
Cool.
What I find interesting is the level of intensity and focus required at this level.
It must be mentally exhausting for these players.
I caught a bit a few days ago, the 40th player walked away with 6 figures.
Hubby also has it on. The constant messing with the chips, the noise, etc...drives me crazy! I don’t complain tho as I know he likes to watch it.
Can you imagine a field of over 6,000 and battling through soo many players, soo many critical decisions along the way to finish in 40th place ?
Yes, you get paid.
But for those that make it to the November Nine the pressure must be extraordinary.

I’ve attended 3 main events as a spectator, since I had a client in LV and could go to the Rio a couple of miles away.
I’m rooting for Newhouse, but it will come down to the races, to separate these excellent players.

I like poker, but I could never play it seriously. Not unless they let me have a cheat sheet of which hands beat which, because I can never remember.
I am impressed with Newhouse.
My first impression of him was of some cocky young online player, but I think he’s the real deal this year.

Truth be told, I’d likely still be married if I complained more.

Big change this years it showing hole cards if a player enters a pot. Thirty minute delay, and so far no one was went into a 30 minute tank. I am watching the webcast through ESPN.go.com. They used to broadcast in the open at espn3.com but I had to log in through my cable account this time. It is of course live on cable.
