I've been posting DUFU threads for years and am not one to bellyache ever. On election night I had a thread pulled because I used only one asterisk instead of three on quoted F words even though that was the practice before. I didn't complain. I accepted that due to the proliferation of the F words QUOTED in that thread, maybe it was a bit too much and promised to use three asterisks in the future.
So today I posted what I thought was a really fascinating DUFU reaction to the Jonathan Gruber video and it had a grand total of ONE F word which I made sure to use THREE asterisks. So what happened? The entire thread got pulled. WHY? I have absolutely no idea but if someone knows please let me know.

Replace the F-word with “Obama”, it means the same thing and is equally offensive....
Don’t get yourself banned by taking it personal.
There seems to be an effort to clean things up a bit, this place has been getting a bit loose lately.
I have been warned myself for letting my passion go a bit over the top in my little two bit comments.
I sure don’t want to lose my ability to vent here.

FWIW, I always enjoy your threads and what you bring to the discussion. It is saddening to see long-time, highly respected FReepers being hassled.

Well, after they’ve run off just about everyone who strayed of the established straight and narrow it seems those who remain have a tight hold on their wallets.
The TdF and Survivor threads used to have hundreds and hundreds of posts each season. This Survivor is pushing week 9 and is way under 200 posts.
There is some crotchety Admin Mod who is a total Church Lady. Noticed this happening a lot in the last year or so. That mod sucks.

Sometimes I believe it may depend on which mod is on watch, and what kind of mood they’re in. Could be a new, or ‘substitute’ mod. They DO work in ‘mysterious ways’ sometimes.
They aren’t as aggressive about “bad language” as they used to be, but many here seem to have ‘virgin ears’. Geez, we’re all grown ups here. People shouldn’t have such thin skin, or so easily offended ears. Of course, this is coming from someone, who if a camera crew were to follow me around all day, it would be ‘Rated R’, due to the language. (and sometimes content lol)
Are you still in the running for acceptance into the Mod Squad?
